Mini has been selling the Mini Countryman in India since 2024 as fully imported models. This included the electric version and the JCW All4 petrol, both priced above Rs 60 lakh. That gap is now closing. The Mini Countryman C will be the first locally assembled version of this generation in India.
Ahead of its official launch, the ex-showroom price has leaked, and it will sit under the Rs 60 lakh mark. Pre-bookings are already open, and the launch is expected soon. Here is a quick look at its features, engine, price, booking details, and rivals.
Upcoming Mini Countryman C features
The Mini Countryman C will come in a single fully loaded variant, so there is no confusion with trims. Inside, it gets a 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen with MINI OS 9, handling most functions. There is also a head-up display. A unique fisheye camera lets passengers click and share photos inside the cabin.
The cabin uses recycled Vescin material instead of leather. Rear seats can slide and recline for more space. Boot space starts at around 450 litres and can be expanded. Other features include a Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Digital Key support. On safety, it gets a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, stability control, hill hold, ISOFIX mounts, and tyre pressure monitoring. It also carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
2026 Mini Countryman C engine specs
The Mini Countryman C will use a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 170PS and 280Nm. It comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and front-wheel drive. It will also get a 48V mild-hybrid system. The claimed mileage will be around 15.4 kmpl. This four-cylinder engine is more refined and smoother than the older three-cylinder unit. The car is based on BMW’s UKL2 platform, which is shared with the BMW X1.

According to the report, the Mini Countryman C will be priced at around Rs 58.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This will make it about Rs 7.65 lakh cheaper than the Mini Countryman JCW All4. It will also sit close to the electric version in terms of price, even though both target different buyers. One is a petrol mild-hybrid, the other is a full EV.
This pricing will be possible due to local assembly at BMW Group’s Chennai plant, which helps reduce costs. The listing suggests a single variant. Final pricing will be confirmed at launch.

The Mini Countryman C will be built at BMW Group’s Chennai plant, the same facility used for earlier locally assembled Mini models.
Mini India has not shared exact delivery dates yet. The launch is expected in May 2026, so price announcement and deliveries should follow soon. At around Rs 58.50 lakh, it will compete with the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Audi Q3 Sportback. The X1 shares the same platform, while the GLA and Q3 Sportback are also in a similar price range.
