Moving to the sides, the i20 now flaunts new dual-tone alloy wheels, a more angular window line, and doors with sharper contours. At the rear, the tail-light design has been altered and is complemented by a subtly restyled rear bumper, further enhancing the hatchback’s contemporary look.

Although the cabin of the next-gen i20 hasn’t been revealed yet, it is expected to offer notable improvements in both comfort and technology. Industry sources suggest the possibility of a new curved display setup—merging the infotainment touchscreen with the digital instrument cluster—similar to the one seen on the upcoming Venue facelift.

Additionally, Hyundai is likely to enhance the safety tech for the India-spec model. An Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite is anticipated, though it's not clear whether it will be a camera-only system like in the current Venue or a more advanced camera-and-radar setup like in the Creta.

Next-gen Hyundai i20 powertrain details

Internationally, the i20 is offered with a range of petrol and mild-hybrid petrol engines, and these are expected to continue with necessary updates to meet upcoming emission regulations. While there have been rumors about a fully electric version of the i20, this is more likely to be the upcoming Ioniq 2, set to debut at the Munich Motor Show next month.

In India, the current engine options are likely to remain: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 84PS and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 120PS for the N Line variants. Hyundai may also introduce the new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine—set to debut on the Bayon—which is hybrid-ready and could potentially be added to the i20 lineup.

Interestingly, before the i20’s launch, Hyundai plans to bring in the Bayon crossover—based on the same platform—by mid-2026.
