Tata Motors experienced a 10% decline in sales performance in May 2025, with 67,429 units sold compared to 75,173 units in May 2024. However, there was a small 2% improvement in Tata EV sales in the domestic market, reaching 5,685 units sold. Tata domestic sales recorded an 11% decline in May, with 41,557 units sold. In the same month last year, the carmaker sold a total of 46,697 units of PV and EV models. At the same time, Tata cars export sales saw a 28% growth on a YoY basis. In May 2025, exports stood at 483 units, up from 378 units in May 2024.


The sales of Tata EV models in both domestic and international markets also showed a slight rise. A total of 5,685 units were sold in May 2025, compared to 5,558 units during the same month last year. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market dropped by 9%. However, on the international front, the segment recorded strong growth with an 87% increase. 

 

Overall, the combined Tata car sales from both passenger and commercial vehicles stood at 67,429 units, marking a 10% decline in YoY performance.

On a month-on-month basis, the growth mark over the past 8 months has been downward, with May 2025 recording the lowest domestic sales at 41,557 units. The second lowest during this period was in December 2024, with 44,230 units sold domestically.

 

Meanwhile, the domestic sales in April 2025 were at 45,199 units, while March 2025 saw 51,616 units sold. February 2025 had 46,435 units, and January 2025 recorded 48,076 units.
