The performance was shaped by two distinct dynamics: a modest but consistent rise in domestic demand, and a much sharper jump in export volumes. 3 lakh hybrid milestone in India
The headline moment for Toyota in May 2026 was not a sales record but a cumulative milestone. The company confirmed it has now sold more than 3 lakh Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles in India. This figure covers models like the Innova HyCross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Camry Hybrid, which together have steadily built Toyota's hybrid presence in a market that has increasingly responded to the fuel efficiency and refinement these powertrains offer. The company has been vocal about its multi-pathway approach, and the 3 lakh figure gives that strategy a concrete data point.

Commenting on the results, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales, Service, and Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, noted that the company's performance reflects positive market acceptance of its products and ownership experience. He highlighted growing customer preference for quality, reliability, and advanced technologies as the driving factors behind the consistent demand.
