- 1Supply chain challenges due to manpower shortages noted by CEO
- 2Domestic SUV sales rose 11% year-on-year to 58,021 units in May 2026
- 3Domestic commercial vehicle sales rose 19% to 24,079 units
June kicked off with Mahindra confirming one of its stronger months of the new fiscal year. The company reported total vehicle sales of 99,636 units for May 2026, a 20% year-on-year increase, making it a broad-based performance across SUVs, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and exports.
With demand staying strong across the portfolio, the only note of caution came from supply chain constraints caused by manpower shortages at select vendors, which the company's CEO flagged directly.

Mahindra's utility vehicle segment remained the backbone of its passenger vehicle business in May 2026. Mahindra no longer has products in the conventional car or van categories, so the entire passenger vehicle tally is driven by its UV portfolio.

Supply constraints acknowledged, demand described as sustained

Commenting on the month, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division, noted that demand across the portfolio continues to be sustained. He acknowledged, however, that supply chain challenges related to manpower shortages at certain vendors are acting as a constraint on fulfilment. The strong numbers across most segments suggest that where supply is not an issue, the demand is clearly there to be converted.
