After over two years on Indian roads and a recent minor update, it has finally undergone its first-ever crash test—and the results are making waves. Interestingly, the Hycross isn't just another model in the lineup—it holds the title of being the first MPV to be tested under Bharat NCAP.  The results are quite positive. 

 

The Toyota Hycross safety rating has been officially announced, and the model has secured an impressive 5-star rating—both in adult occupant protection and child occupant protection. The Toyota Hycross adult occupant protection scores stand at an impressive 30.47 out of 32, showing a strong performance in crash safety tests. These scores are based on two key assessments that simulate real-world collision scenarios. In the front offset deformable barrier test, the Hycross scored 14.47 out of 16, while in the side movable deformable barrier test, it secured a perfect 16 out of 16.

The Toyota Hycross crash test results for child occupant protection have also been quite impressive, with a total score of 45 out of 49. These scores are based on multiple evaluation areas that simulate real-world conditions involving child passengers.

 

In the dynamic tests, which assess how the vehicle performs in crashes when child restraint systems (CRS) are used, the Hycross scored a full 24 out of 24. For CRS installation, it earned 12 out of 12, confirming compatibility with various child seats. Finally, in the vehicle assessment score, it received 9 out of 13.

The Toyota Hycross comes equipped with a comprehensive set of standard safety features right from the base variant. These include 6 SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX with tether anchor, and an engine immobilizer.

 

As you move up the variants, the Toyota Hycross adds even more advanced features. These include an anti-theft device, acoustic vehicle alert system, front parking sensors, SOS emergency assistance, panoramic view monitor with dynamic back guide, dynamic radar cruise control, lane trace assist, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitor, pre-collision system, and auto high beam.
