Upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S new teaser out — Everything here from look to launch

Mahindra is steadily expanding its electric SUV lineup. The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 are already on the road and have carved out its space in the market. Now the brand is gearing up to bring another contender to India.

The talk around the Mahindra XUV700 EV has been around for a while, and it’s finally starting to take shape. After the reveal of the upcoming mahindra electric SUV name, XEV 9S, the brand has been dropping teaser after teaser. The Mahindra EXV 9S latest teaser gives us even more to unpack.

This EV SUV will be built on the new INGLO electric platform. It’s expected to arrive as a three-row, 7-seater electric SUV, carrying the familiar design language seen in Mahindra’s Electric Origin lineup. What makes it interesting is how each teaser adds a new layer of detail, giving us a clearer idea of where Mahindra is heading with this model.

New Mahindra XEV 9S design

Previously, there were plenty of leaks of the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S design, and this new teaser suddenly makes those images feel much closer to the real thing. The front gets a connected LED DRL setup that’s somewhat similar to the XEV 9E, though the design isn’t identical. Just below that, you can spot vertically stacked LED headlamps tucked into a sharp, triangular housing. There’s also a familiar closed-off grille and a hint of a silver skid plate underneath.

The teaser also shows the OTVM, the smooth side creases, roof rail, a big panoramic sunroof, the shark fin, the hood spoiler, and a set of new alloy wheels with the Mahindra infinity logo. At the rear, it doesn’t appear to use the same LED-connected taillight design. Instead, it might be leaning toward the ICE counterpart’s taillight design, which the teaser also hints at.

Upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S interior & features

The teaser gives a clear look at the Mahindra XEV 9S interior, and it follows the same design language we’ve seen on the XEV 9E. You get the two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Mahindra logo and a wide triple-connected screen setup. The dashboard layout looks very similar to the XEV 9E as well. Even the power windows use the same toggle-style switches.

A few other details show up in the teaser too. You can spot Harmon speakers, sliding second-row seats, a powered driver’s seat with memory, and seat ventilation. The rest of the expected features will likely fall in line with the brand’s newer EVs, so things like wireless chargers, cruise control, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, an auto-dimming IRVM, and electric-adjust and power-fold ORVMs with auto dip in reverse should also be on the list.

Mahindra XEV 9S safety features

On the safety side, it’s expected to offer multiple airbags, ESP, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor, door-open alert, and Level 2 ADAS. Overall, the XEV 9S features seem positioned to stay in the same range as its EV siblings, the XEV 9E and BE 6.

2026 Mahindra XEV 9S battery specs

Official specs for the upcoming XEV 9S are still under wraps, but its use of the INGLO electric platform suggests it will offer 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack options. It is also expected to come with a 231 PS motor on the rear axle, delivering 380 Nm of torque with both battery sizes. 

The XEV 9E with the 59 kWh pack claims a range of 542 km, while the larger 79 kWh battery is rated for 656 km. What remains uncertain is whether a front-axle motor or an AWD setup will be included in the final package.

Upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S launch date

The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S launch is set to take place at Mahindra’s Scream Electric event, which will be held on November 26 and 27 in Bengaluru.

2026 Mahindra XEV 9S price (expectations)

The Mahindra XEV 9S price is expected to be revealed after the launch and is likely to fall between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 27 lakh. It will compete with upcoming rivals, including the Tata Harrier EV and BYD eMAX 7.
