This is the first major update to the Taigun since its 2021 launch, and it feels more like a proper step forward than a routine refresh. The new Taigun’s prices are still under wraps for now, but buyers can already place a pre-booking to get ahead. The full price list should follow soon.

What has changed on the 2026 Taigun facelift

The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift gets its biggest changes at the front. It now has a sharper design with a sculpted bonnet, new bumpers, and stronger character lines. The alloy wheels have also been redesigned. You also get an illuminated Volkswagen logo, a light bar across the grille, and full LED headlamps with all-weather lights. At the rear, the LED tail lamps now come with welcome and goodbye animations.

Two new colours have been added: Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey. Existing shades like Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Deep Black Pearl, and Reflex Silver continue.

Inside, the updates are more tech-focused. It now gets a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with AI features powered by Google Cloud. New additions include a panoramic sunroof, rear seat massage function, and 6-way power-adjustable front seats with ventilation. Automatic climate control is also included. Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charger are still part of the package.

On the mechanical side, the biggest update is a new automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine in the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The 1.0-litre TSI still makes 115PS and 178Nm, but now gets a new 8-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre TSI continues unchanged, producing 150hp and 250Nm. It also continues with rear disc brakes on the facelift model.
