The all-new Volkswagen R-Line page is now live on the official website. It gives us a clear look at the upcoming Tayron R-Line and the design closely mirrors the international model. There’s also a brief but telling glimpse of the interior enough to set expectations clear.
The Tayron R-Line is expected to be locally assembled at Volkswagen’s production facility in Maharashtra which should play a key role in pricing and availability.

2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line design revealed
The Volkswagen R-Line features dual projector headlamps connected by a thin LED light strip that runs cleanly from left to right. Up front, a mesh grille and subtle R-Line detailing give it a sharper, more purposeful look. It also get roof rails, pull-type door handles, and the signature IQ.LIGHT HD Matrix LED setup, which adds both style and function.
The exterior shown is finished in a striking purple shade that stands out without feeling overdone. Completing the look are 19-inch Coventry diamond-turned alloy wheels that suit the Tayron’s proportions well.
In terms of size, the VW Tayron will measure 4,792 mm in length, 1,866 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height. The wheelbase stretches to 2,789 mm which should translate into a spacious cabin and a stable road presence.

Upcoming VW Tayron R-Line interior
The revealed images also give us a clear look at the Volkswagen Tayron interior. It carries over the same clean and modern design seen on the international model. While the cabin appears slightly dark in these shots, the tall 15-inch infotainment touchscreen is noticeable. Sitting right beside it is a rectangular panel accented with a blue ambient lighting pattern.
Ambient lighting continues around the rotary control knob positioned below the infotainment screen. Another illuminated strip running across the centre area. Wireless phone charging is visible and the system supports ambient lighting in 30 colours.
Beyond what’s shown, the Tayron is expected to come with a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, multiple speakers, an adjustable driver seat, several airbags, parking sensors and Level 2 ADAS, among others.
2026 Volkswagen Tayron engine
The VW Tayron is likely to be powered by the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 204PS of power and 320Nm of torque. This engine will come paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
2026 Volkswagen Tayron India launch
The upcoming Volkswagen Tayron launch is expected by the end of this month or sometime in February. Once it arrives, this three-row VW SUV will go up against rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and the upcoming MG Majestic.
