The highly anticipated disruption of India's electric family car segment is finally arriving today. After weeks of aggressive teasing and opening the order books to eager buyers, Vietnamese automotive giant VinFast is officially launching its three-row electric offering in the national capital today.

Promising a potent mix of premium features, long-range capabilities, and a cavernous cabin, the MPV 7 marks VinFast’s most aggressive move yet to capture the hearts of Indian families transitioning to zero-emission mobility.

Here is a closer look at what VinFast is bringing to showroom floors today and how it plans to shake up the sub-₹25 lakh EV segment.

Bookings, Pricing, and Availability

Prior to today's official launch event, VinFast had fully opened its order books. Interested buyers have the option to reserve the VF MPV 7 for a token amount of ₹21,000 through the brand's official website or across its rapidly expanding physical network.

VinFast is backing this launch with serious infrastructure. The brand currently operates 51 showrooms and nearly 130 workshop touchpoints across the country, with plans to scale up by year-end. While official ex-showroom prices are being unsealed at today's event, we expect Vibfast to place the MPV 7 squarely in the highly competitive ₹18 lakh to ₹25 lakh bracket.

The VF MPV 7: What to Expect

The VF MPV 7 is expected to draw power from a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor that produces an impressive 201 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. For buyers concerned about range anxiety, the MVP is expected to carry a claimed range of over 500 km on a single charge. Crucially, the vehicle supports DC fast charging as well.

In terms of dimensions, VinFast has capitalised on what it calls the "golden ratio" of MPV design. The vehicle boasts a massive 2,840 mm wheelbase, maximising legroom across all three rows. It rides on sporty 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and features the brand's signature V-shaped LED lighting signatures.

Inside, the MPV 7’s cabin is dominated by a freestanding infotainment touchscreen equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To justify its premium positioning, VinFast will be loading the MPV 7 with a bunch of equipment, including a comprehensive Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.

The Market Impact

The VF MPV 7 is VinFast's third major product entry in India, following the VF 6 and VF 7, and is a key pillar of its local manufacturing push in Tamil Nadu. Starting today, it dives into a fiercely contested sub-₹25 lakh battleground, going head-to-head with the recently updated Kia Carens Clavis EV, the BYD eMax 7, and the newly launched Mahindra XEV 9S.
