

Kia Cars India, a subsidiary of Kia Corporation, began its journey in India on May 19, 2017. The company marked its entry with the announcement of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Trial production began in January 2019, while full-scale manufacturing commenced on July 31, 2019. With this, the Seltos became the carmaker’s first-ever product for the country. Today, Kia India’s production facility boasts an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. Kia India quickly gained traction in the competitive market, introducing models tailored for Indian consumers, such as the Seltos and the Sonet. The brand's rapid growth was evident as it crossed 700,000 sales in under four years by May 2023. Kia Cars India also plays a key role in exports, shipping over 100,000 CKD kits by November 2024. The company’s strong presence in the Indian automotive landscape is driven by its focus on capturing the fast-growing SUV market by offering modern, powerful, and feature-loaded cars.
