Lamborghini Huracán EVO - Pure Driving Passion
The Huracán EVO replaced the standard Huracán in 2019 and brought the heart of the hardcore Huracán Performante. It was a complete overhaul of the supercar’s electronics. The update came equipped with the brand’s all-new LDVI system, which allowed the car to predict the driver’s next move. The system adjusts the all-wheel steering and torque vectoring within a matter of milliseconds to ensure impeccable cornering.
Huracán EVO was a special supercar in the Indian context because it came with a nose-lift system that turned out to be essential for navigating the speed breakers on Indian roads. Overall, the EVO proved that a supercar could be driven with confidence rather than just kept in a climate-controlled garage. Huracán EVO was a mechanical masterpiece that was powered by the iconic naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine with the state-of-the-art Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) system. It is the last of a dying breed of pure petrol powertrain and offers a high-revving experience that modern turbocharged or hybrid rivals simply cannot replicate.
Since the model is discontinued, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO price in India is now dictated by the pre-owned market, where demand remains exceptionally high due to the car’s status as the final pure V10 Lamborghini. Below are the last recorded ex-showroom prices of the Huracán.
| Huracán EVO Variant | Fuel Type | Transmission | Last Known Price (Ex-showroom) |
| Huracán EVO RWD | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹3.22 Crore |
| Huracán EVO RWD Spyder | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹3.54 Crore |
| Huracán EVO AWD (Coupe) | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹3.73 Crore |
| Huracán EVO AWD Spyder | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹4.10 Crore |
| Huracán EVO Tecnica | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹4.04 Crore |
| Huracán EVO STO | Petrol | 7-Speed LDF DCT | ₹4.99 Crore |
The soul of the Lamborghini Huracán Evo is undoubtedly its 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine. In an era where turbochargers are taking the spotlight, this engine continues to be a masterpiece of responsiveness and music.
- AWD Models - Produce a staggering 640 PS (631 bhp) and 600 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
- RWD Models - Produce 610 PS (602 bhp) and 560 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds.
The driving experience is defined by the ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management) selector on the steering wheel, which offers three distinct personalities:
- STRADA - This mode was for on-road comfort and stability. In this mode, the exhaust note was muffled, and the gear shifts became smoother.
- SPORT - In this mode, the supercar became more playful. The LDVI ensures controlled oversteer, and the exhaust valves were fully opened to produve that iconic V10 bark and "pops and bangs" on overrun.
- CORSA - Corsa was the only mode which was focused for pure track mode. All the car’s electronics are optimised for the best lap times.
Since the car is only available in pre-owned markets, understanding the variants is crucial for making an informed investment. However, due to low sales, one may not find the variant of their choice.
EVO AWD: It was the all-rounder because of its AWD powertrain and four-wheel steering. AWD variants offer the best traction and high-speed cornering confidence.
EVO RWD: Being the rear wheel drive setup, this variant was 33 kg lighter than the AWD variants. It was for drivers who loved the challenge of RWD drive cars.
EVO Spyder: This variant came with a retractable fabric roof. The roof used to retract in 17 seconds at a speed of up to 50 kmph.
EVO Tecnica: A "best of both worlds" Huracán model that uses the STO's engine in a more understated, RWD-only body.
STO (Super Trofeo Omologata): This variant was nothing short of a road-legal race car. It was lighter in weight and featured extreme aerodynamics because it was designed almost exclusively for track use.
With sharper, more aggressive lines, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO refines the iconic "wedge" silhouette that has characterised the brand since the Countach. The distinctive Lamborghini "Y-shape" stylistic elements on the front bumper are not merely decorative; they greatly enhance cooling and aerodynamic load.
The twin exhaust tips are higher up alongside the registration plate. This ensures that the rear diffuser is around five times more efficient than that of the original Huracán. From the side, the 20-inch Aesir wheels and the integrated air intakes on the skirts remind one of the Murciélago’s heritage, making the Huracán evo a visual treat from every angle.
The Lamborghini Huracán Evo's cockpit is designed to give the driver a sense of control. Despite being a dedicated two-seater with only 150 litres of storage in the front boot, the interior quality is significantly better than that of previous Huracán models. The 8.4-inch multi-touch capacitive HMI (Human Machine Interface) screen is the focal point. The majority of physical buttons were replaced by this system, which gave the driver control over everything from the LDVI system's real-time data to Apple CarPlay and climate settings.
Since we are talking about a supercar, the material used in it is of the best quality. While ordering the car, buyers had the option to choose between fine Italian leather, Alcantara, and Lamborghini’s patented "Carbon Skin." The carbon skin is a flexible carbon-fibre material that is both light and incredibly durable. Both the seats offered a high level of support for longer drives, and the cabin provided a good level of visibility.
Supercars are often criticised for lacking safety features, but the Huracán EVO is built on a high-strength aluminium and carbon-fibre chassis that provides immense structural integrity. Safety features include:
Carbon Ceramic Brakes - These braking systems are one of the finest in the world. It is standard on most variants, offering incredible stopping power without fade, even after repeated high-speed use.
Advanced ESC - The Electronic Stability Control is integrated with the LDVI system to intervene subtly rather than cutting power abruptly.
Airbags & Structural Safety - Strong front structure to absorb impact and keep the occupants safe. Equipped with front and side airbags.
Nose-Lift System - While a convenience feature, it is a "safety" necessity for the car’s underbody on Indian roads.
In the rarefied air of the supercar segment, the Lamborghini Huracan Evo faced stiff competition from both established marques and new electric contenders.
- Ferrari F8 Tributo - The Ferrari F8 Tributo is Huracán's primary rival. This Ferrari is faster due to its twin-turbo V8, but it lacks the raw and high-pitched soundtrack of the Lamborghini's V10.
- McLaren 720S - Known for its incredible suspension and futuristic carbon tub, though it lacks the brand presence and "theatre" of the Lamborghini in India.
- Porsche 911 Turbo S - It is a sensible supercar when compared to the raging Huracán. It is faster in a straight line and more practical.
- Audi R8 V10 - Shares the same engine and platform but offers a more "GT" feel with a more reserved design. R8 is now discontinued worldwide.
| Pros | Cons |
| One of the best-sounding engines ever made. | You can no longer order a brand-new, bespoke unit. |
| LDVI makes the car surprisingly easy to drive fast. | The 150-litre boot is only enough for a couple of soft bags. |
| Retains the "poster car" look that Lamborghini is famous for. | Even with the lift system, speed breakers require extreme caution. |
| Likely to become a future classic due to being the last N/A V10. | High Maintenance. Specialist service centres are limited to major cities. |
| The 5.2L V10 engine is a proven and robust unit. |
The Lamborghini Huracán Evo is a car for the enthusiast who values emotion over clinical efficiency. While newer turbocharged cars might be technically faster, they cannot match the theatre of 10 cylinders screaming towards an 8,500 rpm redline. Also, it doesn’t have the drama of Hybrids, which the next generation of people will have to deal with.
Furthermore, the Huracán EVO is a great choice for:
- Those who want to own a piece of automotive history before the era of hybridisation and electrification takes over.
- Drivers who want a car that feels special every time the "missile-style" start button is pressed.
- Its reliable engine and user-friendly tech (LDVI) make it much less intimidating than older supercars.
If your priorities are iconic styling, a world-class soundtrack, and a driving experience that makes you feel alive, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO remains the definitive supercar choice in India. At CARS24, we believe that despite being discontinued, the EVO’s legacy is only just beginning.
