2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe launch soon — Reaches dealerships

After launching impressive products back to back, BMW India is all set to update its most-affordable and smallest offering in the Indian market—the 2 Series Gran Coupe—with a mid-lifecycle facelift. The nose of the 2 Series Gran Coupe now has a more compact and sporty appearance, and the shark-like flat front with its distinctive ‘overbite’ lends the car a rakish new identity. Complementing this are the peeled-back headlamps and bonnet lines that flow into each other with intent, making the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe stand out confidently from every angle.

Around the side, it’s all about stance. The car now features larger and more pronounced wheel arches to accommodate wider and taller wheels, giving it a bolder, planted look. The silhouette is cleaner too, with a sloping roofline and a seamlessly integrated rear windshield that flows into the boot, giving it a coupe-like elegance. At the rear, sharper, more angular tail-light clusters give the car a modern, fresh appeal. Boot space is now rated at 430 litres—though Indian versions will get a space-saver spare tyre, which will cut into that figure.

Step inside the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, and you’re met with a cabin that feels lifted directly from BMW’s more premium sedans. Dominating the dashboard is BMW’s latest curved display running the new-generation software, offering improved responsiveness and intuitiveness.

What truly sets the experience apart are the little details—ambient lighting bars that glow boldly and even change colour in response to temperature adjustments (blue for cool, red for warm), offering a touch of theatre. Rear seat space has improved marginally and doesn’t feel as claustrophobic as the earlier model, but make no mistake, this remains a car best enjoyed from the driver’s seat.

2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe engine options

Under the hood, the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is expected to take the beating of downsizing. The 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol now features mild-hybrid tech and delivers a combined 170PS and 280Nm. While overall output is slightly down from the previous model, the integrated electric motor contributes 20PS, helping the car clock a claimed 0–100kmph time of 7.9 seconds.

On the diesel front, BMW is likely to retain the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, albeit in a detuned state—now expected to deliver 163PS (down from 190PS) and a healthy 400Nm of torque. While these figures should be adequate for daily driving and highway runs, power-hungry enthusiasts might wish for a bit more punch.

2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe India launch and expected price

BMW is expected to launch the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe around in the coming weeks, given that dealership dispatches have already begun. 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe price is expected to fall between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 47 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the 2 Series Gran Coupe will go against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limo and the entry-level variants of the Audi A4.
