Honda domestic sales fall below 4,500 units

| Category | September 2026 | September 2025 | YoY change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic sales | 4,465 units | 5,303 units | -15.80% |
| Exports | 2,490 units | 2,793 units | -10.85% |
| Total sales | 6,955 units | 8,096 units | -14.09% |
Honda's domestic sales stood at 4,465 units in September 2026, down 15.80% from 5,303 units in September 2025. Compared with August 2026, when the company sold 5,385 units, domestic sales declined 17.08% month-on-month. The domestic market accounted for around 64% of Honda's total September sales. The decline in domestic sales also contributed most to the company's overall drop in volumes.
Honda exports also declined
Honda exported 2,490 units in September 2026, down 10.85% from 2,793 units in the same month last year. Exports accounted for around 36% of the company's total sales for the month. The decline in exports added to the pressure from lower domestic sales. However, the drop was less severe than the decline recorded in exports during the full July-September quarter.

Quarterly domestic sales grow 20.15%

Honda's domestic sales were stronger during the July-September 2026 quarter. The company sold 15,864 units in the domestic market during this period, registering a 20.15% growth over the same period last year.
Exports, however, moved in the opposite direction, falling 25.11% to 6,883 units. This offset much of the growth in domestic sales and brought combined quarterly sales to 22,747 units, up 1.58% year-on-year.
The difference between September's weaker sales and the overall quarterly performance shows that strong domestic growth was enough to keep Honda's total quarterly sales slightly positive, despite a significant decline in exports.
