Kia Carens Clavis EV bookings open unofficially
Many Kia dealerships across the country have begun accepting unofficial bookings for the Carens Clavis EV. For those who are not aware about unofficial bookings, one can pay a nominal fee to the dealerships in advance to the commencement of official bookings, thereby giving you a slight advantage over those who decide to book later. Typically, this results in shorter waiting period for delivery of your new car. Make sure to clear the terms about the cancellation of booking and the refund, should you wish to cancel the booking upon the price announcement of the vehicle.

Kia Carens Clavis EV design details
The Kia Carens Clavis EV resembles the Carens Clavis, with minor EV specific tweaks inside and out. It retains the inverted-L-shaped LED DRLs along with projector headlights and connected LED tail lights. At the front, it incorporates a new grille housing a centrally-placed charging port. Around the side, you get to see EV-specific alloy wheels with a design similar to that of global Kia EV models.
On the inside, the Carens Clavis EV features a floating centre console with storage underneath and a 7-seater configuration. It remains to be seen whether Kia offers a 6-seater configuration in the Carens EV, since the acceptance for the same has not been more than 10% in the lineup of the standard Carens.
Kia Carens Clavis EV powertrain specifications
Kia India is yet to reveal the complete specifications of the Carens Clavis EV. What we know so far is that the Carens Clavis EV will pack a 51.4kWh battery pack, offering an MIDC-certified range of 490km on a single charge. It is worth mentioning that the Carens Clavis EV shares its battery pack and motor with the Hyundai Creta Electric and despite having larger proportions and weight, manages to excel in terms of claimed range. It remains to be seen whether the smaller battery pack of the Creta Electric finds its way to the Carens Clavis EV or the 51.4kWh battery pack remains the only option.

Kia Carens Clavis EV launch date
As we mentioned earlier, Kia India is all set to launch the Carens Clavis EV on July 15, 2025. The Carens Clavis EV is going to be Kia’s first made-in-India electric offering, since models like the EV6 and EV6 are brought to the market as direct imports. Once launched, the Kia Carens Clavis EV will rub shoulders with the BYD eMax7, which currently is the only all-electric family mover on sale in the Indian market. It is worth mentioning that MG Motor India is also gearing up to launch the M9 electric van, but that is set to take on models like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire.
