In terms of overall adult occupant protection, the Skoda Kylaq edges ahead with a near-perfect score. The Kylaq performed slightly better in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, scoring 15.04 out of 16, compared to 14.21 by the Syros. However, the Syros achieved a perfect 16/16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, while the Kylaq scored a respectable 15.84.

Both vehicles passed the Side Pole Impact Test and offer key safety equipment such as frontal airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, load limiters, and electronic stability control (ESC) as standard. While both SUVs deliver top-tier adult protection, the Kylaq's higher score (30.88/32) gives it a slight advantage in frontal crash scenarios, whereas the Syros (30.21/32) demonstrates exceptional side-impact performance with full points.

When it comes to child safety, both vehicles are among the top scorers in their segment, but the Skoda Kylaq edges out again, thanks to its perfect dynamic score of 24/24 in crash testing with child dummies. The Syros followed closely with 23.42/24, still an impressive result. In the child occupant safety tests, the Kylaq scored 45 out of 49 points whereas the Syros scored 44.42 points in the same tests.
Both SUVs support i-Size-compatible ISOFIX child restraint systems with ISOFIX mounts and support legs, and feature manual airbag cut-off switches to accommodate rear-facing child seats in the front passenger seat. The Kylaq offers slightly better protection for child occupants, especially in terms of crash performance, making it more family-friendly in this regard.
