MG August 2024 sales in India record 9% year-on-year growth – One-third sales from electric vehicles

JSW MG Motor India has recorded a 9% year-on-year growth in sales for the month of August 2024. A good 35% of this sales came from electric and hybrid vehicles while the rest of the sales came from internal combustion cars. Here’s all that you need to know about MG August 2024 sales in India.
MG August 2024 sales report 9% Y-o-Y growth
MG Motors has reported a 9% year-on-year growth in August 2024, selling 4,571 units as compared to 4,185 units in August 2023. Furthermore, 35% of this number came from electric vehicles including MG ZS EV and MG Comet EV.
M-o-M sales remain constant
When compared to July 2024, MG Motors gathered identical sales numbers. MG sold 4,572 units in July 2024 while it sold 4,571 units in August 2024, indicating a negligible fall. Please note that these numbers reflect the factory dispatches and the actual number of cars sold through dealerships may vary.

MG Windsor launch on Sept 11
MG is set to launch the MG Windsor EV electric crossover on September 11, 2024. It will be MG’s third electric car in India, after the MG ZS EV and MG Comet EV. Dubbed as Wuling Cloud EV in markets such as China, the MG Windsor comes with a 50.6kWh battery pack, which sits on a skateboard EV platform. The battery pack feeds power to a front-mounted single motor that can be driven for up to 460 km on a single charge. The permanent magnet synchronous electric motor produces 134PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
Upcoming MG cars in India
JSW MG Motor India is set to launch five new MG cars in India over the next one year, as stated by its President & MD Rajeev Chaba. Out of these five cars, three will be mass market cars and the remaining two will be positioned for a premium segment. The first of the lot will be the Windsor EV that we talked about in the paragraph above. MG is also expected to launch the Bingo EV subsequently, which it filed a patent for around a month back.
