Mini India has launched the new Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition in India at Rs 58.90 lakh ex-showroom. The car was unveiled at Mini’s new dealership in Surat, called Mini Eminent Cars. What makes this edition special is its exclusivity. Only 30 units will be available in India, making it more of a collector-focused model than a regular mass-market launch.
The GP Inspired Edition takes inspiration from the high-performance Mini GP models, which are known for being the fastest and most powerful versions of the Mini Cooper lineup.
Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition design — Whole lot of JCW character
The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition comes in a single Legend Grey exterior shade, a colour exclusive to this edition in India. It gets Chilli Red accents on the roof, mirror caps, tow strap, and wheel hubs, giving the car a sporty contrast without looking too loud. It also gets a full JCW styling package with redesigned bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler, black exterior trim, and wider-looking winglets inspired by the Mini GP. Other highlights include a rear diffuser, GP-inspired bonnet and side stripes, and a red front tow strap inspired by track cars.
A special “1/30” badge on the C-pillar highlights its limited-edition status. The hatchback rides on 17-inch JCW black alloy wheels with red centre caps. Lighting features include LED headlights with three DRL signature options and animated welcome functions, along with redesigned matrix-style LED taillights.

Inside, the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition continues the sporty theme with JCW sport seats finished in a Vescin and Cord material combination. The cabin also uses recycled and leather-free materials across the dashboard and door panels, giving it a more modern and eco-friendly touch.
The car gets a JCW sports steering wheel with paddle shifters and a Boost Mode function for a more engaging driving feel. Special GP Inspired illuminated door sills and “1/30” floor mats remind buyers that this is a limited-edition model. Other highlights include electrically adjustable front seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, and a dark Anthracite roof lining.

Inside, the Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition gets a large 240mm circular OLED touchscreen running MINI Operating System 9. The system supports both touch and voice controls, and the “Hey MINI” voice assistant can manage navigation, calls, music, and vehicle settings.
Other tech features include a head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, and remote software updates. The MINI Digital Key Plus also allows the owner’s smartphone to work as the car key.
The cabin also gets a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, and different MINI Experience Modes like Go-Kart, Green, and Vivid. These modes change the car’s lighting, sound, and display theme based on the selected driving style. The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition comes with Level 1 ADAS features including Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Speed Warning, and Driver Attention Assist. Other features include front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, parking assist, multiple airbags, ABS, stability control, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring, and high-beam assist.

The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204bhp and 300Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Mini claims a 0-100 kmph time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 242 kmph. Claimed fuel efficiency stands at 16.82 km/l. It also gets adaptive suspension, JCW Sport Brakes, and a Boost Mode that sharpens throttle response for a sportier driving feel. Features like auto start-stop, brake energy regeneration, and active air ducts.

The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is priced at Rs 58.90 lakh ex-showroom. It is imported as a completely built-up unit. Bookings had opened earlier with a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh, and deliveries have now started across Mini India dealerships.
Mini is also offering a 2-year unlimited kilometre warranty with roadside assistance. Service packages and extended warranty options are available, along with finance plans through BMW India Financial Services.
