Nissan Gravite CNG launched in India with segment-first twin-cylinder kit at Rs 82,999
- 1Nissan Gravite retrofit CNG kit is priced at Rs 82,999
- 2kit uses a segment 1st twin-cylinder setup with two 25-litre cylinders
- 3Both cylinders are stacked vertically in the boot, leaving negligible boot space
The Nissan Gravite now gets a CNG option. The retrofit kit launched is priced at Rs 82,999 over the variant cost. It uses a twin-cylinder setup, so all three rows of seats remain usable. CNG is cheaper to run than petrol in most cities, which makes this option useful for families looking for a practical and affordable 7-seater.
What is the Nissan Gravite CNG kit, and how does it work?

The Nissan Gravite CNG setup is dealer-fitted, not factory-fitted. Buyers purchase the car and then get the kit installed at an authorised Nissan India dealership for Rs 82,999.
It uses two CNG cylinders of 25 litres each, placed in the boot. This twin-cylinder layout helps keep all three rows usable, so seven people can still sit without losing space.
The system is ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) approved, which is the standard government certification for safety and reliability of such kits in India. The kit has been developed and quality-assured by Motozen, and Nissan is backing it with a 3-year or 1,00,000 km third-party warranty on the kit components.
Nissan Gravite boot space trade-off you need to know about
The main downside of the Nissan Gravite CNG setup is boot space. The two cylinders take up most of the boot, so there is almost no room for luggage. This means if all seven seats are used, carrying bags becomes difficult. Buyers will need to adjust if they travel with luggage often.
There is a possible future fix. Renault is working on an underbody CNG tank for the same platform, which could free up boot space. But this is not confirmed for the Gravite yet. For now, it suits buyers who mainly use the car for daily runs and do not carry much luggage.
2026 Nissan Gravite CNG specs 7 mileage

The Nissan Gravite is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 72 PS and 96 Nm. It comes with a 5-speed manual or AMT. The CNG kit is available with both options.
Nissan has not shared exact power figures for CNG. This is common with retrofit kits. Power usually drops slightly in CNG mode, so performance may feel a bit lower, especially with a full load.
Nissan's official website mentions a fuel efficiency figure of up to 24 km/kg for the CNG mode, though this is likely an ARAI-rated figure and real-world returns may differ based on load, road conditions, and city traffic.

The CNG kit is priced at Rs 82,999 (introductory) and is added on top of the chosen variant's price. The Gravite petrol range currently spans from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom). On higher variants, the combination could push the total to well above Rs 9 lakh before on-road costs are added.
For reference, on-road prices in key cities for the base petrol Gravite are approximately Rs 6.33 lakh in Delhi, Rs 6.77 lakh in Mumbai, and Rs 6.95 lakh in Bengaluru. Add Rs 82,999 to any of these for the CNG-equipped version.
