The Czech automaker has officially confirmed that the Skoda Epiq will make its global debut on May 19, 2026, in Zurich. Alongside the announcement, Skoda also released the first official interior sketches of the car. This is the clearest look yet at what the cabin will look like. The upcoming Epiq will be positioned as Skoda's most affordable battery electric vehicle.
Here is a full breakdown of everything we know about the Skoda Epiq so far, from its design and battery options to expected pricing and competition.
How we got here — The road to the Epiq's debut

The Skoda Epiq was not a surprise reveal. Skoda has been building up to this launch for some time. The car was originally planned for a 2025 debut but was pushed back to 2026, partly to follow the facelifted Enyaq and the new Elroq, both of which introduced Skoda's new "Modern Solid" design language first. When the Epiq finally arrives, it will be the first model in Skoda's lineup to have been designed with this language from the ground up.
In September 2025, Skoda unveiled a near-production concept of the Epiq at the IAA Mobility show in Munich. While the car was not fully uncamouflaged at the time, it gave a clear picture of the exterior design direction. In February 2026, Skoda released detailed technical specifications, three power variants, two battery chemistries, and confirmed dimensions.
An early prototype drive was also conducted by several international media outlets, giving the automotive press their first taste of the car on real roads around Porto, Portugal. Now, with the interior sketches and a locked premiere date, the new Epiq is almost ready to go.
2026 Skoda Epiq interior design — A clean break from the traditional dashboard

The Skoda Epiq gets a new interior based on Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design. It looks different from a typical cabin. The layout is wide and horizontal, which makes the cabin feel more open. Controls are simple and easy to use. There is a floating centre console with wireless charging and useful storage spaces.
It also gets ambient lighting and uses recycled materials inside. Higher trims may offer more premium upholstery. The driver gets a 5.3-inch digital display, and there is a 13-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Physical buttons are still present for key functions. Skoda also keeps its “Simply Clever” features like an umbrella holder and smart storage options.
Upcoming Skoda Epiq exterior design — minimal, aerodynamic, and distinctly Skoda
The Skoda Epiq follows the same “Modern Solid” design on the outside. The look is clean and SUV-like, with a focus on efficiency. It has a drag coefficient of 0.275, which helps improve range. Key highlights include the new T-shaped LED lights at the front and rear, and the “Tech-Deck Face” with a closed black panel that houses sensors and cameras. Higher trims may get matrix LED headlights.

The Epiq is about 4.17 metres long, placing it in the compact SUV segment. It also gets features like active air shutters and aerodynamic wheel designs (17 to 19 inches). Some design elements from the concept, like styling details on the side, are expected to carry over to the production model.
Skoda Epiq boot space and practicality — bigger than it looks
The Skoda Epiq is built on a dedicated EV platform, so there is no engine or transmission tunnel taking up space. This helps improve cabin and boot room. Boot space is 475 litres, which is more than the Volkswagen Golf and Citroen e-C3. With the rear seats folded, it goes up to 1,344 litres. There is also extra storage inside the cabin.
The wheelbase is 2.60 metres. Even with a compact length, the car offers good interior space.
Skoda Epiq battery options — three variants, two batteries
The Skoda Epiq will be offered with three powertrain options. The Epiq 35 gets an 85 kW motor with a 38.5 kWh LFP battery and offers a range of around 315 km, with DC fast charging up to 50 kW. The Epiq 40 uses the same battery but a stronger 99 kW motor, with faster charging up to 90 kW and a similar range.
The top Epiq 55 gets a 155 kW motor with a larger 55 kWh NMC battery, offering up to 430 km range and DC fast charging up to 133 kW, with 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. All variants support 11 kW AC charging. A performance RS version is being talked about, but not confirmed yet.

Skoda Epiq range and charging
The Epiq entry version offers up to 315 km range, which is enough for daily use. The top Epiq 55 goes up to 430 km, which is higher than rivals like the Renault 4 E-Tech and Ford Puma Gen-E.
Charging speeds are also good. The Epiq 55 supports up to 133 kW fast charging and can go from 10 to 80% in about 23 minutes. The Epiq 40 supports 90 kW charging and takes around 28 minutes for the same.
Upcoming Skoda Epiq premiere date and where it will be unveiled
Skoda has confirmed that the Epiq will have its world premiere on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 2 p.m. local time in Zurich, Switzerland. The event is expected to reveal full production specifications, trim details, and market availability for European buyers. Sales are expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with deliveries likely following in early 2027.
