The upcoming Skoda Epiq testing has finally kicked off, and the baby EV has been spotted for the first time — fully wrapped in camouflage, flaunting its early prototype avatar. Originally showcased last year, the upcoming Epiq EV measures just 4.1 metres in length, making it the smallest Skoda electric SUV ever built. Despite its compact size, this Skoda entry-level EV will incorporate Skoda’s bold new design language. Continue reading below for more on what this Smallest Skoda electric SUV will bring to the competition ground—something we can all look forward to.
Upcoming Skoda Epiq exterior — Smallest Skoda electric SUV

The Skoda Epiq will be the first model to incorporate Skoda’s Modern Solid design language. Although the spy test mule was heavily camouflaged, key details of the Skoda Epiq exterior were clearly visible. The front features a slightly flatter bonnet with a subtle sneak peek of the headlamps, though the full design remains covered.
According to official renderings, the front headlamp section will have bifunctional, T-shaped LED elements for DRLs and indicators. Positioned lower within the T-shaped design, the headlights follow a cubist-inspired style and will come equipped with advanced Matrix LED technology. Below the lights, an air vent section with slatted gaps will help with airflow and add to the bold front fascia.

From the side, the upcoming Skoda compact SUV test mule features a low, gently sloping roofline that smoothly merges into a roof spoiler, along with pull-out door handles, a shark-fin antenna, and sleek alloy wheels. At the rear, although still heavily covered, careful observation reveals the familiar T-shaped taillight design outline seen in the official render images. A rear wiper is also clearly visible.

Upcoming Skoda Epiq battery & range

Talking about the Skoda Epiq battery options, it is said to offer two different capacities, although official confirmation is still pending. The battery sizes are expected to range between 35kWh and 56kWh. The upcoming Epiq range is claimed to reach up to an impressive 400 km, making it a strong contender in the compact electric SUV segment.
Skoda Epiq launch globally
The Epiq launch on the global stage is expected to take place in 2025. Positioned below the Skoda Elroq, the Epiq will serve as the brand’s entry-level electric compact SUV, with a projected starting price of around €25,000. which roughly translates to Rs 22–23 lakh (excluding taxes and duties).

Skoda Epiq EV India Launch

As for the Skoda Epiq India launch, the EV is also expected to make its way to Indian roads. Under Volkswagen’s PEAK EV project, the group plans to localise the MEB21G EV architecture for the Indian market, with a specific focus on entry-level and mid-size electric SUVs.
Additionally, there have been earlier reports that Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plans to introduce at least five EV models from its global portfolio, including the Vision 7S, Elroq, Enyaq (SUV and Coupe), and naturally, the Epiq. If all goes according to plan, the Epiq could be one of the key electric SUVs to launch in India.
