At the virtual launch of the Nissan Magnite CNG, Nissan India revealed the launch timeline of its upcoming SUVs that are slated to be launched in the coming years. Read the story further to know more about the upcoming Nissan SUVs launch timeline in India.
Upcoming Nissan SUVs India launch timeline
Nissan India is gearing up to launch its new range of cars in the coming years. At the launch of the Magnite CNG, Saurabh Vatsa, head of Nissan India, revealed the India launch timeline of the upcoming Nissan products, which include a Triber-based MPV and two new SUVs. The two SUVs will share their powertrains and underpinnings with the Renault siblings.

Speaking about the first SUV, which will share its underpinnings with the upcoming Renault Duster, it is said to be launched in India in the middle of 2026. The second SUV—a 7-seater model of the first SUV—is said to be launched in 2027, alongside its Renault counterpart. Nissan claims that the second SUV will be a proper 7-seater SUV and not just a 7-seater iteration of the first SUV.

No diesel engine for upcoming models
Nissan India has officially ruled out any possibility of diesel engine in its upcoming range of cars. Citing the diminishing market share of diesel engines, Nissan India will consider bringing EVs and hybrids in the near future, meeting the ever-so-stringing emission norms in the country. Despite the struggles with the X-Trail, Nissan India continues to focus on bringing halo models as CBUs for the Indian market.
Pre-production of upcoming models begins
Throwing rumours around the brand’s exit from the Indian market following the sale of shares in India’s manufacturing plant, Nissan India revealed that the pre-production of its upcoming models have already begun at Renault’s plant in Chennai. Nissan firmly believes that the sale of its share in the manufacturing plant would not hamper its production capacity. In fact, the carmaker plans to double its current production capacity, in order to fulfil both domestic and international demand.
