Upcoming Renault Duster spied in India — What to expect?
- 1Likely to come with petrol and hybrid powertrain options
- 2To go against cars like the Creta, Grand Vitara, and Elevate
- 3Expected to be launched by early 2026
Renault is gearing up to bring the Duster compact SUV back to India, albeit in its latest generation. While the French carmaker is struggling with its current lineup, the Duster might just be the product to steer its revival. A camouflaged test mule of the Duster has been spied testing, and here’s what we expect from the upcoming Renault Duster.
Nissan-Renault’s CMF-B platform
The global-spec Duster is based on the new CMF-B platform, which is a modular platform jointly developed by Nissan and Renault, and it underpins some of their global cars and SUVs. While the India-spec Duster is expected to get some major changes, it is likely to be based on the same platform as the global-spec model.
Exterior design

While the spied test mule doesn’t reveal much about the SUV, the global model has already been on sale for a while now, and its design is unlikely to see any major changes. When viewed from the front three-quarters, the new Duster looks very similar to the first generational model. It gets a new front grille design, and lots of triads all throughout its exterior and interior. The rear gets a more squared-off design. The SUV will feature Renault’s new logo that we first saw on the Renault Triber facelift.

Interior and features

On the inside, there’s a dual-layered dashboard with a central touchscreen that’s slightly tilted towards the driver. The triads from the headlights can also be seen on the air-con vents. Key Renault Duster features include an Arkamys-tuned sound system, ADAS functionalities, a sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, and more.
Powertrain options

The new Renault Duster will come with the option of a petrol engine, though media reports also suggest that it might get a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain option as well. Renault is yet to confirm the exact powertrain specs.
