Tata Motors has released a new teaser for the upcoming Sierra EV ahead of its debut on June 30, 2026. Unlike previous teasers that focused on the SUV's design, the latest video highlights its performance by showing the Sierra EV tackling desert terrain and climbing sand dunes with ease.

The new Sierra EV teaser also clearly reveals a QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) Dual Motor badge on the tailgate, confirming an all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup. This will make the Sierra EV the second Tata electric SUV, after the Harrier EV, to feature the company's QWD technology.

Unlike earlier teasers that focused on the Sierra EV's design, the latest video puts the spotlight on performance. The SUV is shown driving across desert trails and climbing sand dunes, while also revealing the QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) badge.

The QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) system uses two electric motors, one on each axle, giving the Sierra EV an all-wheel-drive setup. This configuration can help improve traction on surfaces such as sand, gravel, and mud by distributing power between the front and rear wheels as needed. The upcoming Sierra EV will be Tata Motors' second electric vehicle to feature QWD technology after the Harrier EV, expanding the company's dual-motor EV lineup.

Tata Sierra EV battery & range

Tata Motors has not revealed the Sierra EV's full powertrain details yet, but it is expected to follow the brand's multi-battery strategy seen on other electric models. Lower variants could get a 55 kWh battery pack, while higher trims may feature a 65 kWh unit, with a claimed range of up to around 538 km.

There is also speculation about a larger 75 kWh battery option, similar to the Harrier EV, which could help the Sierra EV better compete with rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6. While a rear-wheel-drive version is already expected, the latest teaser has now confirmed that an all-wheel-drive QWD variant will also be offered.
