We already know that the Vietnamese automotive brand, VinFast, has set its sights on launching its model in the Indian market. Even at the recent Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, the carmaker showcased several models, including the VinFast VF3, VF6, VF7, VF8, V79, VF e34, and also a VinFast VF Wild Concept. Recently, the VinFast VF7 was spotted on Indian ground, seen at the Mumbai airport with a dark black exterior paint. It looks like it’s in the production-ready form.
VinFast VF7 to launch soon

The spotted VinFast VF7 EV is clearly an imported unit, and it looks like the carmaker may be preparing to start testing this model on Indian roads. It features stylish headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. You’ll also notice L-shaped LED lights at the very front that aren’t connected but together form a wing shape, with the brand’s logo placed in the middle of the DRLs. The EV also has a grille on the lower bumper. It has a slightly muscular shape and comes with 19-inch gloss black wheels. Overall, the look is the same as what was showcased at the 2025 Expo.
VinFast VF7 battery and specs

Globally, the Vinfast VF7 is available in two variants – Eco and Plus. Both variants are equipped with a 75.3 kWh battery pack as standard. The Eco trim features a single-motor setup that delivers 207PS of power and 310Nm of torque, offering a claimed range of 450 km with front-wheel drive (FWD). On the other hand, the VF7 Plus has a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive (AWD). It produces 354PS and 500Nm of torque and has a claimed range of 431 km.
VinFast VF7 launch & rivals

The VinFast VF7 India launch is expected to happen this year during the festive season, around October 2025. This upcoming EV will be locally assembled at the brand’s new facility in Tamil Nadu, which should help it stay competitive in the market. It will compete with the BYD Sealion 7, Mahindra XEV 9e, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and Kia EV6.
