The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift has been launched in India across seven trims: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus Chrome, and GT Plus Sport. It comes with nine exterior colour options, including two new shades, Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey. There are noticeable changes to the design along with updates to the feature list. Another key highlight is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift gets a noticeable design refresh. Up front, there’s a new grille with a connected light band, along with an illuminated logo placed right between the headlamps. The headlamps themselves have also been revised.
At the rear, it now features an infinity-style LED tail lamp with sequential turn indicators. There’s also an illuminated logo in the centre. The tail lamps get welcome and goodbye animations, which add a bit more character. The SUV now runs on new glossy black alloy wheels.

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is offered in nine exterior shades. These include Avocado Pearl, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Deep Black Pearl, Steel Grey, Lava Blue, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel, and Matte Steel.
Inside, there are six upholstery options. Fabric choices include Soul Black, Anthracite with CNC stitching, and Black with London Grey stitching. Leatherette options include Storm Grey with Black piping, Storm Grey with Red piping and stitching, and Black with Red piping and stitching.

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift comes well equipped with features that actually add to the everyday experience. You get a 10.09-inch infotainment system, Active Info Display, turn-by-turn navigation, and a sunroof with a summer function. It also gets 17-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, ambient lighting, smart touch Climatronic AC, and a rear windshield wiper with intermittent control, among others. Up front, there are 6-way electric and ventilated seats as well.
On the safety side, it covers all the essentials and more. There are six airbags, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, and front and rear parking sensors, brake disc wiping, and hill hold assist, along with over 40 additional safety features built in.
Volkswagen Taigun facelift engine options

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift carries forward its pre-facelift powertrain lineup, sticking to what already works. The 1.0-litre TSI continues as the entry point, producing 115PS and 178Nm. The 6-speed manual stays unchanged. The 6-speed torque converter, however, has been replaced with a newer 8-speed unit. Volkswagen also claims a 5.8% improvement in fuel efficiency.
The 1.5-litre TSI engine continues to deliver 150PS and 250Nm. It remains paired with the 7-speed DSG and comes with active cylinder technology.

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift also comes with the forever care ownership package, which adds a layer of long-term peace of mind. It includes a 4-year standard warranty or up to 100,000 km, along with 4 years of roadside assistance. On top of that, you get 3 free labour services, covering the first visit at one month or 1,000 km, followed by an inspection at 6 months or 7,500 km. There’s also an annual preventive maintenance schedule at 1 year or 15,000 km, whichever comes first.
