FASTag Yearly Pass: ₹3000 for Full Year Access To National Highways
- 1Nitin Gadkari announces FASTag annual pass at ₹3,000 for hassle-free travel
- 2Enjoy unlimited toll access on all National Highways for one year or 200 trips
- 3Reduces wait times, minimising wait time and reducing disputes on toll booths
Every once in a while, something simple transforms the way we experience our everyday journeys. In the vast expanses of Indian highways, that innovation is FASTag – a compact, powerful sticker that has revolutionised how tolls are collected, promising effortless drives and shorter queues. But if you travel often on specific stretches, tolls can become a burden and increase your running cost. Hence, there’s a more convenient solution for this – the FASTag Annual Pass.
Like the subscription plan of your favourite OTT platform, an annual toll subscription service has been introduced for regular commuters who take the same route more often. FASTag Annual Pass offers you the chance of gliding through toll booths without worrying about FASTag recharges or repetitive deductions. And it’s as seamless as it sounds.
New FASTag Annual Pass from 15th August 2025
A new FASTag Annual Pass is set to roll out across all National Highways and Expressways from 15th August 2025. This announcement comes from the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.
As per honourable Road Transport and Highways Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari,
“The FASTag annual pass will enable seamless and cost-effective travel across National Highways throughout the country."
As part of this updated policy, non-commercial FASTag users can purchase an annual pass for just ₹3,000, allowing seamless travel across India’s extensive highway network. The pass will be valid for one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first, offering an affordable and convenient solution for frequent travellers.
The new FASTag Annual Pass is set to revolutionise road travel with reduced toll tax, lower wait times and will also aid in reducing disputes on the toll plazas. However, this new Annual Pass will be available for only private vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans. For commercial vehicles such as buses, trucks, and multi-axle trailers, a regular yearly pass will remain functional.
The new FASTag Annual Pass will be available on:
- The Rajmarg Yatra App
- The official website of NHAI
- The website of MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways)
Activating the new Annual Pass will be as easy as a breeze. All you have to do is log in to any of these portals with your FASTag credentials when the service is activated. Recharge your wallet with ₹3000, and your FASTag will be auto-linked with the new Annual Pass.
What is FASTag Yearly Pass?
Consider the FASTag Yearly Pass as your express access to India’s highways. For a nominal annual fee, it allows you to pass through your preferred toll plaza with ease. Tailored for frequent travellers—be it daily commuters, transporters, fleet operators, or regular route users—it offers both convenience and consistent savings.

Instead of paying the toll fee every time you pass through, you pay a single lump sum for the entire year. Once that’s done, you simply drive through, no questions asked.
Who Can Benefit From FASTag Yearly Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a boon for:
- Daily commuters who use the same toll plaza to and fro every day
- Fleet operators and logistics companies looking to optimise costs on fixed routes
- Inter-city travellers who frequently cross the same toll booths
If you fall into any of these categories, the FASTag Annual Pass can prove to be a valuable asset, helping you save on costs and enjoy a more hassle-free driving experience.
Where is the FASTag Yearly Pass Applicable?
The FASTag Annual Pass isn’t available at every toll plaza just yet. At present, it’s offered only on select routes and toll booths across India, but the network is steadily expanding. Many of the participating corridors include tolls operated by the NHAI and public-private partnerships that support fixed-rate subscription models.
Before you apply, you’ll need to check whether your route is eligible. You can do this easily on the NHAI or IHMCL portals, or through your FASTag issuing bank’s website.
How to get your FASTag Yearly Pass
Securing your Yearly Pass is a breeze if you already use FASTag:
- Visit your FASTag provider's website – like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI, Paytm, etc
- Log in to your FASTag account and head to the ‘Yearly Pass’ section
- Select the toll plaza you wish to buy the pass for
- Confirm your vehicle details and pay the applicable amount
Voila! You’re now entitled to unlimited access on that route for 365 days. Do note – the Yearly Pass is typically vehicle-specific and non-transferable.
Is FASTag Yearly Pass Worth it? Let’s do the Math.
Let’s say you travel through a toll plaza that charges ₹50 one way. That’s ₹100 daily for your round trip. Multiplying that by 22 working days of a month comes out to be ₹2,200 monthly or ₹26,400 a year.

Now, if the Annual Pass for that plaza costs ₹5,000, you’re already saving over ₹21,000 annually. Plus, no need to monitor toll deductions or top-up balances every now and then.
For businesses with multiple vehicles, such as cabs or company-issued cars, the savings will be even more significant.
Coming to the calculations of the new Annual Pass offering up to 200 trips within One Year at a one-time payment of ₹3000, the per-trip cost would come down to just ₹15 if you manage to pass through the toll booths 200 times. The per-trip cost is significantly lower than previous yearly passes, which were applicable to only one toll booth.
FASTag Yearly Pass Final Thoughts
FASTag changed the way Indians drive through the toll booths. And with the introduction of FASTag Annual Pass, the driving experience is further elevated. For frequent users, it’s a frugal move — a minor upgrade that adds convenience, savings, and peace of mind to your daily drives.
So if you're someone who finds yourself crossing the same toll every day, ask yourself: why pay every day, when you can glide through all year with just one subscription?
