In India, Mercedes-Benz is extremely popular, especially in the corporate sector and is quickly becoming a more common sight than before. While Mercedes has already announced and is successfully selling the LWB (Long Wheel Base) version of the A-Class Sedan in China exclusively, the company did confirm that India will also get the pleasure of driving the A-Class sometime in 2020. We still don’t know whether we will get the exclusive LWB variant from China or the standard variant but since the LWB version of the E-Class did exceedingly well in the country, our bets are on the LWB A-Class making it over into India as well. Powering the upcoming A-Class sedan will be a BSVI-compliant, 1330cc Turbocharged petrol engine that offers 163PS of power and 250Nm of torque, and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There is another version that houses a BSVI-complaint 1.5L Turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of generating 116Ps of power and 260Nm of torque. The diesel engine is also paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. When launched, the A-Class Sedan will most likely take on cars like the BMW 1 Series and the Audi A3 which are already high-selling cars in the market.

|Engine||2.0L Petrol, 2.0L Diesel|

The Mercedes-Benz GLB will be a compact SUV that will hit Indian markets sometime in October 2020. The car sits between the GLA and GLC models and takes its looks from both of them. It is expected that the GLB will come with both 5 and 7 seat options and will be available in 2 Editions. Both variants will come with 2.0L BSVI-complaint petrol and diesel engine options which will be mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the inside, the GLB is said to feature a boxy dashboard with a large touchscreen MBUX-included infotainment system as well as a digital instrument cluster for complete control while driving. As of now, we don’t know a lot about the GLB but with a launch date set for October, we can expect Mercedes to release some more information about the upcoming SUV in the coming weeks.
|Expected Launch||10 December, 2020|
|Engine||2.0L Turbocharged Petrol, 3.0L Diesel|
Considered as the discounted S-Class, the upcoming E-Class 2020 carries all the luxury but leaves behind the hefty price tag from the most premium sedan from Mercedes-Benz. The body of the upcoming E-Class looks quite similar to the previous iteration but there are a few upgrades and new inclusions. The brake lights are now wider than they used to be on the older E-Class and the headlamps also get brand new LED lights in them. The alloy wheels have also been redesigned. The front grille has also been changed up a bit with the standard version getting a curved up design whereas the AMG variants get a more aggressive-looking swept down grille design. On the AMG variants, Mercedes has also included “power domes” or bulges on the bonnet that give the car a deeper sound when revving the engine. Under the hood, the new E-Class 2020 comes with a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Inline 4petrol engine that is capable of generating 255Ps of power and 273Nm of torque and is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission gearbox. There is also a BSVI-complaint 3.0L V6 diesel engine that will produce 362Ps of power and 369Nm of torque along with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Inside, the E-Class 2020 will come with dual 10-inch touchscreen displays which can be upgraded to larger, 12-inch displays. Some of the other features include “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant, 360-degree surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, and all the other high-tech equipment you can expect from a Mercedes-Benz premium sedan.
|Expected Launch||13 December, 2020|
Across the globe, electric vehicles or EVs are slowly but surely making their presence felt and it’s about time Mercedes-Benz got into the story as well. Welcome the Mercedes-Benz EQC. This electric SUV is probably one of the most anticipated EVs in the market right now – not only because it comes from one of the biggest names in the automobile industry, but also because it is expected to be a complete powerhouse. When Mercedes showcased the EQC, they did so with a variant called the “Edition 1886”. This model was powered by a massive 8kWh Lithium-Ion battery that is expected to give the EQC a minimum range of 445 kilometers on a full battery. With those numbers, you can see why the EQC might just become an instant hit with all EV enthusiasts. When it comes to charge time, the EQC comes with a 7.4kW AC charger that can be used is any home port as well as outdoor charging stations (wherever available) but will be a lot slower as compared to the advertised Mercedes-Benz wallbox charger that delivers power up to three times faster than the regular charger. It can do this through the 110kW DC charger that is featured in the station and can take the battery from 10-80 percent in just 40 minutes. The EQC houses a dual motor setup that allows All-Wheel-Drive and is capable of generating 408Ps of power and 760Nm f torque. It is also estimated that the EQC will be able to go from 0-100 Kmph in an impressive 5.1 seconds. In terms of features, the EQC will come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control, luxurious upholstery, MBUX, and a digital assistant voice command setup.
|Expected Launch||15 December, 2020|
|Engine||2.0L 4-Cylinder Turbocharged Petrol|
|Transmission||7-Speed DCT Automatic|
Although the GLA 2020 is the smallest crossover from Mercedes-Benz, the car sure knows how to pack a punch. The GLA 2020 is designed to look and perform thanks to its sporty features including the shorter overhangs, the 18-inch wheels, and the raked windshield in the front. The front grille is quite hidden thanks to the oversized Mercedes-Benz branding but it is not something that depreciates the look of the car – in fact, it gives it a more aggressive look overall. Powering the GLA 2020 is a 2.0L Turbo-petrol engine that will produce 208Ps of power and 258Nm of torque. Paired to the engine will be a 7-speed DCT or Dual-Clutch Transmission. Safety is very important to Mercedes-Benz and therefore they have included a number of features including airbags for the front and rear seats, ABS with EBD, child safety locks, LED DRL’s, traction control, parking cameras, and stability control. The GLA 2020 will also come with standard features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, high-quality speakers, plush leather interiors, keyless ignition, climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity.
|Expected Launch||22 December, 2020|
Carrying a sleek coupe-like design, the upgraded Mercedes-Benz CLA 2020 sedan is bound to turn heads in India. The car is fitted with a BSVI-complaint 2.0L 4-cylinder Turbocharged petrol engine that comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that pushes all the power to the 4MATIC All-Wheel-Drive system. The powerful engine is capable of generating 302Ps of power with 295Nm of torque which is more than enough to take on the Indian roads. In terms of features, the CLA 2020 comes with bright LED headlamps as well as taillights, dual 7-inch touchscreen displays for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system that supports MBUX technology. There is also Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity with Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Given the fact that the previous CLA was one of the most used cars in the Mercedes lineup, the new model might get people reaching for their RC transfer papers sooner rather than later.
|Expected Launch||30 December, 2020|
|Engine||3.0L In-Line Turbo-Petrol|
If there was one car from Mercedes-Benz that you should be waiting for, it has to be the AMG GLE 53 Coupe. This stunning car looks sleek, stylish, and delivers a performance like no other. Thanks to the massive 3.0L In-Line turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of generating 429Ps of power and 384Nm of torque, the AMG GLE 53 Coupe is probably one of the most powerful coupe’s in the Indian market right now. Mated to the engine is a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT automatic transmission. Mercedes has included 21-inch wheels on the AMG GLE 53 Coupe which gives it unrealistic control and that will be extremely important on Indian roads. As of now, that is all we know about the India-bound coupe, but we expect to get more information in the coming weeks given that the car will be launched by the end of this year.
