Honda Cars India has reported total sales of 8,284 units for July 2026, made up of 6,014 units sold domestically and 2,270 units exported. Total sales grew 10.1% over the 7,524 units sold in July 2025, but the headline figure understates the real story of the month, a sharp 48.5% jump in domestic volumes.
Honda car sales July 2026 — Domestic dispatches lead the growth
Domestic dispatches rose from 4,050 units in July 2025 to 6,014 units in July 2026, an increase of 1,964 units. This also represented healthy sequential growth, with July's domestic figure up 14.7% from the 5,243 units sold in June 2026.

Honda July 2026 sales — Exports decline despite total growth
While domestic demand pulled sales higher, exports moved in the opposite direction, falling to 2,270 units in July 2026 from 3,474 units in the same month last year, a decline of roughly 34.7%. This meant the overall sales increase for the month was held to 10.1%, considerably lower than the domestic growth rate alone would suggest.

Honda's cumulative FY27 numbers
Looking at the broader April-July FY27 period, Honda has sold 29,863 vehicles so far, a 27.1% increase over the 23,504 units sold in the corresponding period of FY26. Within this, domestic sales grew 27.9% to 20,437 units, while exports increased 25.3% to 9,426 units.
Honda appoints Toshiyuki Yanagisawa to jointly lead HCIL and HDII
Honda has appointed Toshiyuki Yanagisawa to jointly lead Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) and Honda Digital Innovation India Pvt. Ltd. (HDII). Yanagisawa currently heads Honda’s India Strategic Development Office and is the CEO of HDII. He has previously worked with HCIL and is familiar with India’s automotive market.
Honda is preparing to expand its business in India. Its India-focused vehicle planned for 2028 has now entered the execution stage. Meanwhile, current HCIL President and CEO Takashi Nakajima will move to Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd. after completing his tenure in India.
