The Honda City has been around long enough in India to build a loyal fan base of its own. It may not be the flashiest sedan in the segment anymore, and the market itself has become smaller over the years, but the City continues to hold its place with buyers.
The upcoming Honda City facelift has been spotted undisguised ahead of its India launch. Images shared by X user Akbars600 reveal visible updates at the front, giving us one of the clearest looks yet at the refreshed sedan. Honda has officially confirmed that the updated City will launch in India on May 22, 2026.
What the undisguised Honda City facelift actually looks like

The undisguised Honda City facelift reveals a heavily updated front-end design. The sedan gets sharper-looking LED headlamps, a new honeycomb-pattern grille, and a redesigned bumper with revised fog lamp housings and air dam styling. The alloy wheels also appear to get a new black-finished design. Another noticeable change is the repositioned Honda badge, which now sits above the grille for a cleaner.
The side profile remains mostly unchanged, which is expected from a facelift. The overall silhouette and roofline continue from the current model. At the rear, the facelift is expected to get redesigned tail lamps, a revised bumper, and repositioned reflectors. Earlier spy shots from Brazil had already hinted at these updates. While some international-spec details may differ, the latest undisguised India-spec image confirms the new honeycomb grille and updated front-end styling ahead of the May 22 launch.

2026 Honda City facelift features
The exterior updates on the Honda City facelift are relatively subtle, which is expected for a mid-cycle update. The bigger changes are likely to be inside the cabin, where the City is expected to gain more features to stay competitive against newer rivals.
Expected additions include a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen similar to the one seen in the Honda Elevate, and a 360-degree camera. New upholstery and interior trim updates are also likely. However, the overall dashboard layout is expected to remain familiar.

Features from the current model are likely to continue. These include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, connected car tech, PM2.5 air filter, keyless entry, and an 8-speaker audio system.
Upcoming Honda City facelift safety
On the safety side, the City already comes with Honda SENSING ADAS features such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, lead car departure notification, and auto high beam. The addition of a 360-degree camera would further strengthen the package.

Upcoming Honda City facelift engine specs

The 2026 Honda City facelift is not expected to get any engine changes. It will likely continue with the same two powertrain options. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 121PS and 145Nm. It will continue to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The 1.5-litre e:HEV strong hybrid setup produces around 126 PS and comes paired with an e-CVT.
Honda City facelift price & rivals
The current Honda City starts at Rs 12.07 lakh (ex-showroom). With new features in the facelift, a small price increase is expected. Final prices will be announced at the May 22 launch. The hybrid variant, priced at Rs 19.99 lakh, is also likely to see a slight upward revision. The facelift will continue to rival the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
