- 1Wuling Starlight 560 has been spotted again near MG's Halol plant in Gujarat
- 2latest spy shots reveal the complete side silhouette
- 3India is expected to receive PHEV and EV powertrain options only
The Wuling Starlight 560 appears to be getting closer to its India launch. After being spotted near MG’s Halol plant in Gujarat earlier, the SUV has now been seen again with clearer details visible. The latest spy shots, carrying temporary GJ 17 registration plates, show the side profile and rear design more clearly for the first time.
The SUV was also spotted earlier on the Mumbai-Agra highway near Indore alongside the MG Hector, giving a better idea of its size. Multiple sightings across different states and near MG’s manufacturing facility suggest that the SUV’s India launch may not be far away.
What the upcoming MG Starlight 560 spy shots have revealed so far

Recent sightings of the Wuling Starlight 560 have revealed most of its design details. The latest spy shots near MG’s Halol plant show the rear more clearly, including split tail-lamps that match the design of the front DRLs. This gives the SUV a more connected and modern look.
The side profile shows a boxy and upright design, more like a traditional 3-row SUV. When spotted next to the MG Hector on the Mumbai-Agra highway, the Starlight 560 appeared similar in size. This has led to speculation that it could eventually replace the MG Hector Plus. Earlier sightings also revealed full LED headlamps with DRLs, front and rear skid plates, roof rails, and dual-tone alloy wheels. The EV test model also had a closed-off front grille, which is common on electric vehicles.
MG Starlight 560 interior and features visible in spy shots

The interior of the Wuling Starlight 560 has not been seen yet, but the China-spec model gives a good idea of what to expect. It features a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, likely supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a 3.5-inch digital instrument display and a two-spoke steering wheel.
The SUV is expected to come with leatherette seats and a proper three-row, seven-seat layout. Its size, seen during testing alongside the MG Hector, suggests cabin space similar to the MG Hector Plus. Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, and connected car features similar to those of other MG models.

MG Starlight 560 powertrain options expected in India
The Wuling Starlight 560 is offered globally with four powertrain options: two petrol engines, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and a full electric version. For India, MG is expected to bring only the PHEV and EV variants as the brand continues to focus on electrified vehicles.

The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, producing 194.3bhp and 230Nm. It uses a 20.5 kWh LFP battery pack and should offer a useful electric-only driving range for city use.
The EV version uses a 134bhp electric motor with a 56.7 kWh battery pack, similar to the setup used in the MG Windsor EV.
| Powertrain | Power | Torque | Battery / Gearbox |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5L Turbo Petrol (MT) | 174.2bhp | 260Nm | 6-speed MT |
| 1.5L Turbo Petrol (CVT) | 174.2bhp | 290Nm | CVT |
| PHEV (1.5L NA + Motor) | 194.3bhp (combined) | 230Nm | 20.5 kWh LFP battery |
| EV (Electric Motor) | 134bhp | 200Nm | 56.7 kWh battery |
MG is expected to launch the PHEV and EV versions first in India. The petrol variants are less likely at launch.

MG Starlight 560 expected price, rivals, and India launch
In global markets, the Wuling Starlight 560 is priced at around Rs 21 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, depending on the variant. For India, the expected starting price could be around Rs 21 lakh for the PHEV version, while the EV could cost more depending on battery size and localisation.

At this price, it will rival the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar. The plug-in hybrid setup could give it an advantage, as none of these rivals currently offer a PHEV option.
The SUV has now been spotted testing multiple times across India, including near MG’s Halol plant in Gujarat. This suggests that the India launch may happen in the first half of 2026, although MG has not officially confirmed it yet.
