Mahindra, keeping true to its 15th August tradition, has showcased a set of four new concept SUVs — Vision S, Vision X, Vision T, and Vision SXT. The Vision X is the concept SUV that is the most road-focused of the four. Here’s all that we know so far about the new Mahindra Vision X concept.

Mahindra Vision X design details

While the Vision X does have certain characteristics in common with the other concepts like high ground clearance and lots of cladding, it gets regular tyres and smoother-flowing panels as opposed to the rugged boxy designs of the other SUVs. There are cameras instead of ORVMs, though we might see traditional ORVMs once the SUV reaches production. The rear face is reminiscent of the Maruti e Vitara, especially the design of the rear lightbar. The SUV gets flush door handles and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The dashboard of the Vision X concept plays host to a conjoined dual-screen setup for instrumentation and infotainment. There’s a completely different design for the steering wheel, when compared to the other concepts. A thick bar of chrome seems to extend from the leftmost air-con vent to the rightmost one.

Mahindra NU_IQ platform

As is the case with all the concept SUVs showcased by Mahindra at the event, the Vision X is based on its new NU_IQ platform that supports ICE, electric, as well as hybrid powertrains. We do not know yet about the powertrain options that will be available on the Vision X, however, it is likely to be the replacement to the Mahindra XUV 3XO. The platform can support front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
