The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has been launched in India. It is built on the Heartect e platform, a dedicated architecture developed specifically for battery electric vehicles. The SUV is available in three trims: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The Delta comes with the 49 kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha step up to the larger 61 kWh unit.

The Maruti eVitara gets a futuristic front fascia with NEXTre 3 point matrix LED DRLs and a closed off grille. The Maruti logo sits prominently at the centre. It also carries a sharp, polyhedral stance, complemented by NEXTre 3-point matrix tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels with aero garnish.
In terms of dimensions, the eVitara measures 4275 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height. The wheelbase stretches to 2700 mm, which should translate into generous cabin space for passengers. Boot space stands at 306 litres and it can be expanded by adjusting the rear seats when you need extra room.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara features and safety

On the feature front, the 2026 Maruti e Vitara comes packed with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, connected car technology, multi-colour ambient lighting, PM 2.5 air filter, 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and fixed glass roof.
It also includes a 10-speaker Infinity sound system with a subwoofer, wireless charger, Type-A and Type-C USB chargers for both front and rear seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, and more.
As for safety, the new Maruti e Vitara features include seven airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS, ESP, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a 360-degree camera, and other essential safety equipment. The Level 2 ADAS suite adds advanced aids like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, adaptive high beam system, and blind spot monitoring, among others

New Maruti eVitara battery specifications

The Maruti e-Vitara will come with two battery options: a 49 kWh pack and a 61 kWh pack. The 49 kWh version will produce 144PS, while the larger 61 kWh unit will deliver 174PS. Both will generate 189Nm of torque and come with a Front Wheel Drive setup as standard.
When it comes to range, the numbers are clear. The 49 kWh battery pack is claimed to offer an ARAI range of 440 km. The 61 kWh version pushes that figure to 543 km. The Delta features a 49 kWh battery, while the Zeta and Alpha step up to a 61 kWh pack.
2026 Maruti eVitara prices & BaaS scheme
The full ex-showroom prices of the Maruti eVitara are not revealed yet and are expected to be announced soon. For now, only the base price under the BaaS program, a battery rental scheme, has been shared, starting at Rs 10.99 lakh. Under this plan, buyers pay only for the vehicle upfront, while the battery cost is charged separately based on usage. The rental fee is Rs 3.99 per kilometre driven.
The Maruti eVitara prices for other variants, both with and without BaaS, are still awaited. Once the complete pricing is announced, buyers will have a clearer picture of the overall ownership cost and how the standard purchase compares with the battery rental option.
Maruti eVitara bookings open
The official booking window for the Maruti eVitara has opened in India with a token amount of Rs 21,000. Buyers can place their booking either online through the official Nexa website or by visiting an authorised Nexa dealership.
