India now has a new top-dog SUV and it comes from MG Motor. The MG Majestor has officially launched, and it sits in what the brand calls the D+ segment. That just means it is bigger than everything else already in the full-size SUV category. It is taller, wider, and longer than rivals, and MG has priced it starting at Rs 40.99 lakh, going up to Rs 44.99 lakh for the fully loaded 4x4 variant.
If you’ve been checking out SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner or Isuzu MU-X, but want something that feels a bit more premium, more commanding on the road, and packed with extra tech, the Majestor is definitely one to keep on your radar. Here’s a full breakdown.
2026 MG Majestor design and dimensions — Tallest, widest, longest SUV in its segment

The Majestor does not try to be subtle. At 5046mm in length, 2016mm in width and 1870mm in height, it is the biggest production SUV you can buy in this class in India right now. The wheelbase is 2950mm, which means leg room in the second and third row is genuinely generous.
At the front, you get what MG calls the Mosaic Matrix Grille along with Dragon Eye DRLs. These are sharp vertical daytime running lights that give the car an unmistakable face. The headlights use a Tri Beam setup with dual projector and a single reflector unit, so nighttime visibility is strong.
At the back are connected tail lamps that run full width across the tailgate. It is the kind of design detail that looks expensive. The alloy wheels are 265/55/R19 in size, which MG says are the largest in this segment. The car also gets sporty twin exhaust tips and brushed steel side steppers.
MG says the Majestor is available in three variants: Sharp (2WD), Savvy (2WD) and Savvy (4WD). The overall build is on a ladder frame chassis, which is the right architecture for a vehicle of this size and off-road intent.
All-new MG Majestor colour options
The 2026 Majestor exterior is available in four colours: Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash. There is no dual-tone option at launch and all four are offered as solid single-shade finishes.
2026 MG Majestor interior features
The 2026 Majestor is built around what MG calls the M-Lounge cabin concept. The idea is simple, even on long drives, occupants should feel like they are in a premium lounge rather than just a car.
Inside, the new Majestor comes well equipped. The infotainment system and instrument cluster are both 31.24 cm (12.3-inch) screens. It offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with front seats that feature 8-mode massage, heating, and ventilation. The driver gets a 12-way electrically adjustable seat with memory function.

Other highlights include the Galaxy View Roof panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a JBL Studio 12 audio system with 12 speakers. There is also a 220V power outlet for the second row and 3-zone automatic climate control.
MG’s iSmart 2.0 connected car platform adds over 75 features, including remote AC control, live location tracking, anti-theft immobilisation, digital Bluetooth key sharing, and OTA software updates. Voice commands support six languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, and English. Buyers also get boot access with a hands-free kick gesture.
MG Majestor safety features
The Majestor comes equipped with a wide range of standard safety features, including 6 airbags, a driver fatigue warning system, electronic stability programme, traction control system, roll movement intervention, hill hold control, hill assist control, hill descent control, ABS, EBD, brake assist, and all four disc brakes.
It also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear wiper and washer, rear defogger, heated outside rear-view mirrors, speed-sensing auto door locks, ISOFIX child seat anchors, driver and co-driver dual-stage pre-tensioning seatbelts, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.

The top Savvy variant adds Level 2 ADAS, which includes features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, intelligent headlamp control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot detection, and more. The Majestor has not yet been officially crash tested by the Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP

MG Majestor engine and performance
MG has kept the powertrain simple. The Majestor gets a single engine option, a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel. It produces 215 PS of power and 478.5 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There is no manual gearbox or petrol option.
The 2WD variants use rear-wheel drive, which MG says helps with better balance and handling on rough roads. The 4WD variant adds a proper 4x4 system with a low-range transfer case.
Off-road capability is where the Majestor stands out from most rivals in India. The M-Hub system offers 10 terrain modes, including Normal, Rock, Snow, Sand, and Mud, along with combinations across 2H, Auto, 4H, and 4L settings.
It also gets triple differential locks for the front, rear, and centre. The M-Crawl feature manages throttle and braking at very low speeds, so the driver only needs to focus on steering in tricky conditions. The water wading depth is rated at 810 mm, which is among the best in its segment.
