Outline

After much delay, Nissan India has launched the Gravite in the country, priced between Rs 5.65 lakh and Rs 8.93 lakh. The Gravite is built on the CMF-A+ platform, the same architecture that underpins the Renault Triber. That also makes the Triber its most direct rival and distant cousin.

The connection isn’t surprising, given the alliance between the two brands. Still, Nissan will be hoping the Gravite’s styling and feature mix give it a distinct identity. Alongside this launch, Nissan Gravite bookings have also opened nationwide.

The 2026 Nissan Gravite shares part of its silhouette with the Renault Triber, which isn’t surprising given the shared platform. The proportions are familiar but Nissan has worked to give it a distinct face.

Up front, it features signature LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and a piano black 2D grille with white aero accents. The Gravite badge sits on the bonnet. Lower down, a C shaped element frames the bumper, with fog lamps positioned at both ends and a silver underbody skid plate adding contrast.

At the rear, crystal edge LED tail lamps and Gravite lettering define the look. It rides on 15-inch flex wheels, and a silver skid plate completes the design. On the exterior, the Gravite colour options include Blade Silver, Storm White, Onyx Black, Metallic Grey, and Forest Green.

Step inside, and the layout will feel familiar if you’ve seen the Renault Triber. The overall design and dashboard architecture remain largely the same, but Nissan has added a few of its own touches, most noticeably the Nissan lettering on the steering wheel. The cabin is practical and built around a three-row layout.

Nissan Gravite features

Step inside the cabin and the Nissan Gravite comes across as well equipped for its price. At the centre is an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a 7-inch instrument cluster, wireless charger as an accessory, day and night adjustable irvm, premium i key with push button start stop, steering-mounted cluster controls, cooled glovebox, cruise control, rear sensing wiper, one-touch driver window up down, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, among others.

On the safety front, the Gravite covers the basics and more. It offers electronic stability control, TPMS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, automatic warning hazard on heavy braking, brake assist system, and more.

Nissan Gravite engine

Nissan Gravite

The Nissan Gravite uses the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Renault Triber. Nissan is sticking with a proven setup rather than trying to reinvent the formula. This engine makes 72hp and 96 NM of torque, and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
