Range Rover has introduced a new Duo-Tone Fade paint finish for the SV. It is available only through the brand’s Bespoke programme. It adds another route for buyers to personalise the SUV. Range Rover has not revealed the price of the Duo-Tone Fade finish yet. Since it is part of the Bespoke programme, the cost will depend on the customisation chosen by the buyer.
How the Range Rover SV Duo-Tone Fade paint works
The Duo-Tone Fade finish does not have a sharp line between the two colours. Instead, the colour starts from the roof and bonnet and gradually fades into the sides and rear of the SUV.
The finish is created using multiple layers of paint. The base colour is applied first, followed by the second shade, which is blended by hand. This makes the process more time-consuming than a standard paint job.
Range Rover has also tested the paint combinations to make sure the different colours and paint materials work well together.
Range Rover SV colour combinations
Range Rover offers four Duo-Tone Fade combinations. All four use Obsidian as the base colour, with a different shade used for the fade.
- Velvet Depths: Obsidian and Sunrise Copper
- Sunstone Lustre: Obsidian and Tourmaline Brown
- Ashen Amaranthine: Obsidian and Amethyst
- Nacre Allure: Obsidian and British Racing Green
Each exterior colour option is also paired with a matching dual-tone interior theme. This means buyers can carry the customisation into the cabin as well.
Range Rover SV engine and range
The Range Rover SV is the performance-focused version of the SUV and is available with petrol and electric powertrains. The petrol version gets a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid technology. It produces 537hp and 750Nm of torque. The electric version offers a claimed range of up to 600km on a full charge.
Availability
Customers interested in the new finish will have to specify it through Range Rover’s Bespoke service. The paint can be combined with other exterior and interior options available for the SV.
The new finish gives SV buyers more scope to create a car that looks different from the standard models, with the two-tone effect designed to make each SUV more individual.
