VinFast launched the VF MPV 7 in India, marking the Vietnamese brand's third product launch in the country in under a year. After the VF6 and VF7 SUVs, the company is now entering the electric MPV space with a seven-seater three-row.

The 2026 VF MPV 7 comes in a single fully loaded variant priced at Rs 24.49 lakh ex-showroom. It runs on a 60.13 kWh battery pack with a certified range of 517 km under ARAI's MIDC test cycle. The positioning is deliberate. VinFast is not chasing volume through multiple trim levels. Instead, the brand is offering a single well-equipped version and letting the price do the talking.

At this price, the VF MPV 7 enters a segment that has so far been dominated by hybrid and petrol MPVs. The Kia Carens Clavis EV sits just below it. The BYD eMax 7 sits above it. The Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Suzuki Invicto hold their ground with strong brand loyalty. VinFast is betting that a genuinely spacious electric cabin combined with an aggressive ownership package will change a few minds.

VinFast VF MPV 7 exterior design and colour options

VinFast VF MPV 7

The VF MPV 7 does not try to disguise its proportions. It is a tall and boxy MPV. The front end carries VinFast's signature connected LED lighting bar that merges nicely into the brand logo. Below it, vertical LED projector headlamps are stacked, and a blanked-off grille for a clean electric-car aesthetic. The ORVMs are body-coloured and carry LED turn indicators with an auto-fold function. They unfold the moment the car is unlocked and fold back when locked.

Along the sides, a chrome accent runs the full length of the window line. The 19-inch black alloy wheels with 235/50 R19 tyres fill the arches well.  At the rear a connected LED tail-light bar mirrors the front DRL treatment and converges at the VinFast logo in the centre. A roof-mounted spoiler rear wiper and shark-fin antenna complete the profile.

The VinFast VF MPV 7 colour options include five exterior shades: Jet Black, Introspective Brown, Solar Ruby, Moonlit Ocean, and Zenith Grey. Interior colour options are Dual Tone Black and Brown or all Black.

VinFast VF MPV 7 dimensions — How big is it really

Size is the VF MPV 7’s strongest card. It measures 4740 mm in length, 1872 mm in width, and 1734 mm in height, with a 2840 mm wheelbase and 185 mm ground clearance. On paper, it already tells you this is a proper three-row family mover.

VinFast VF MPV 7 boot space with all seats up stands at 126 litres. That’s enough for a couple of small bags but not much more. Fold the third row, and it opens up to 606 litres. Drop all rows and the space expands further to 1240 litres, making it usable for bulkier loads.

The 2840 mm wheelbase is the longest among MPVs in this price range. For context, the Kia Carens Clavis EV sits at 2780 mm, while the BYD eMax 7 comes in at 2800 mm. That extra length between the wheels directly benefits cabin space. VinFast has used it well, especially across all three rows.

VinFast VF MPV 7 interior — Cabin design and feature highlights

The cabin uses a theatre-style seating layout. Each row sits slightly higher than the one in front, so even third-row passengers get a clear view instead of staring at headrests. It makes the space feel more open.

All three rows get leatherette seats. Every seat comes with an adjustable headrest and a proper three-point seatbelt, which is good to see. The second row is a 60:40 split with sliding and reclining functions, plus a one-touch tumble feature that makes getting into the third row much easier. The third row is a 50:50 split and can recline too, so it’s not just a basic last row.

The dashboard design is minimal. A single 10.1-inch touchscreen at the centre handles infotainment, instrument cluster information and climate controls in one place. The steering wheel is a D-cut flat-bottom unit wrapped in leatherette with tilt and telescopic adjustment. The drive selector is an integrated stalk on the steering column, freeing up the centre console for storage of a wireless charger and cupholders.

The powertrain centres on a 60.13 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a front-axle electric motor. The setup produces 204PS and 280Nm of torque. VinFast claims a 0-100 km/h sprint in under nine seconds which is quick for a 1875 kg seven-seater. The claimed range is 517 km under ARAI testing. In real conditions, expect around 380 to 430 km depending on traffic, AC usage, and how you drive.

There are three drive modes to choose from. Eco focuses on saving range, Normal works best for daily driving, and Sport gives you quicker response when needed. You also get four levels of regenerative braking, including an off mode that feels closer to a regular petrol or diesel car.

Charging is fairly flexible. The CCS2 port supports up to 80 kW DC fast charging, which can take the battery from 10 to 70% in about 30 minutes. For home use, it supports 6.9 kW AC charging, and there’s also a 3.5 kW portable charger included that works with a standard socket.

VinFast VF MPV 7 price vs rivals in India

ModelBattery / RangePrice (ex-showroom)
VinFast VF MPV 760.13 kWh / 517 kmRs 24.49 lakh
Kia Carens Clavis EV51.4 kWh / 473 kmRs 17.99 to 24.99 lakh
BYD eMax 771.8 kWh / 530 kmRs 26.90 to 29.90 lakh
Toyota Innova Hycross (Hybrid)Hybrid / ~23 km/lRs 19.77 to 30.98 lakh

The VF MPV 7, priced at Rs 24.49 lakh, sits at the top end of the Kia Carens Clavis EV range and below the starting price of the BYD eMax 7. The comparison with the Toyota Innova Hycross is a bit different since that’s a hybrid but it’s still a common choice for buyers looking at a premium seven-seater.

On paper, VinFast has an edge. It offers a longer wheelbase, a bigger battery, higher claimed range, and a strong warranty package, all at a lower price than the BYD. It also comes in a single variant.

The only real question is brand familiarity. Kia and Toyota already have strong service networks in India. VinFast is still expanding, with around 50 showrooms right now and plans to reach 75 by the end of 2026, along with over 230 service points.

VinFast VF MPV 7 warranty and ownership package

VinFast VF MPV 7

The ownership package on the VinFast VF MPV 7 is one of the most complete you’ll find at this price.

  • Vehicle warranty: 7 years or 1,60,000 km
  • Battery warranty: 10 years or 2,00,000 km
  • Free maintenance: 3 years or 36,000 km
  • Roadside assistance: for the full warranty period
  • Extended coverage on suspension and paint
  • Up to 75% assured buyback
  • Free charging at VGreen stations until March 31, 2029
  • EV transition benefit for buyers switching from petrol or diesel

VinFast is clearly putting its bet on the ownership package. The 10-year battery warranty is a big part of that. Range anxiety is still real for many buyers and this kind of coverage helps ease that concern. For comparison, both the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7 offer 8-year battery warranties.

The 7-year vehicle warranty is also strong. Most rivals offer 3 to 5 years. Add three years of free maintenance, and the early ownership period becomes easier to manage. The 75% buyback offer also helps. Resale value is a concern with EVs, especially from a new brand, and this reduces that risk. Free charging until 2029 is a useful extra, though its value depends on how accessible the VGreen charging network is for you.
