Volkswagen recalls Taigun and Virtus in India

The Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus units manufactured between 24th May 2024 and 1st April 2025 are affected by this recall. This issue came up during a regular quality check. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in case of a front-end collision, there's a chance that the rear seatbelt's buckle latch plate could break. Also, the webbing of the rear centre seatbelt and the buckle of the rear right seatbelt may not work properly. Hence, the recall has been announced to fix this issue in the affected units.

How many units are affected?

This time, the recall numbers for the VW Virtus and Taigun are pretty high, with a total of 21,513 units affected. This is a sharp contrast to the previous recall issued in October 2024, which involved just 38 units from both models combined. As for the concern about any charges for fixing the issue, there's no need to worry. The repairs will be done free of charge at authorised Volkswagen service centres in India.
Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun were previously recalled as well

On 28th October 2024, a recall was issued for the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun due to a possible issue during the welding process. The weld seam on the track control arm might have been missed on some units. This could cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability and control, especially in certain driving situations, without any warning. This recall was issued for a total of 38 units of these models combined, which were manufactured between 29th November 2023 and 20th January 2024.
