Tata Nexon EV

In the real world, the medium-range version should give the owner about 200–220 km, and the long-range 45 kWh model should offer about 310–330 km. The car has a battery warranty of 15 years and unlimited kilometres for the first owner. Charging, meanwhile, varies with the equipment used. With a 7.2 kW AC wallbox, Tata estimates 4 hours 18 minutes for the medium-range battery and 6 hours 36 minutes for the 45 kWh battery from 10-100% state of charge. With DC fast charging, the 45 kWh version can charge from 10-80% in around 40 minutes using a 60 kW charger, while the medium-range version takes around 56 minutes with a 50 kW DC charger. 

The design of the Tata Nexon EV looks sharper and more modern after the facelift. The revised bumper with dark-chrome vertical elements creates a cleaner, more confident front profile.   

Front Profile

The front-end design is cleaner than before, with slim DRLs sitting above the main headlamp units. The centre-position lamp adds another visual element to the nose, while sequential indicators and front fog lamps with cornering functions are available on higher variants.

Side Profile

From the side, the Nexon EV retains the familiar compact-SUV proportions. The R16 alloy wheels, black cladding and roof rails help give it a slightly more rugged appearance, while the flush-looking overall design keeps the body relatively clean. Ground clearance is 205 mm for the medium-range version and 190 mm for the 45 kWh version.

Rear Profile

Technology is one of the stronger aspects of the Nexon EV. The lower variants get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a TFT instrument cluster of the same size, while higher versions move to a 10.25-inch cinematic touchscreen and digital cockpit. The larger touchscreen infotainment system uses Tata's Arcade.ev platform and offers access to entertainment and utility applications. Higher variants also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the digital cockpit can display navigation information in front of the driver.

The Nexon EV also gets an 8-speaker Harman audio system, while the topmost version gets a JBL cinematic sound system. Wireless smartphone charging and 45W USB Type-C charging add further convenience. There is also a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, air purifier, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and a cooled glovebox. The top trim also gets Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.

The Tata Nexon EV has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. It also gets a comprehensive set of passive and active safety features, while the top-end Empowered + A 45 adds a Level 2 ADAS package.

Passive Safety & Crash Protection

The Nexon EV gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, 3-point seatbelts with reminders and front and rear parking sensors. The 45 kWh versions also get rear disc brakes, while the electronic parking brake with Auto Hold adds convenience in stop-and-go traffic.

Active Safety & Stability Systems
