Jeep is celebrating 85 years since the debut of the original Willys in 1941. The brand is marking the milestone with special customer benefits and the launch of its global "Duck Duck Jeep" community movement in India for the first time.

From the Willys to today's Jeep

Jeep's history goes back to the Willys, one of the early vehicles to combine four-wheel drive with an all-steel body. It helped establish the foundation for the rugged utility vehicles that followed.

Over the years, Jeep expanded its lineup and played a role in the growth of the SUV segment with models such as the Wagoneer. The brand has continued to focus on off-road capability, distinctive design and adventure.

The seven-slot grille has also become one of Jeep's most recognisable design elements. Today, Jeep vehicles are known for their off-road ability and distinctive styling, both of which have been part of the brand's identity for decades.

Jeep's journey in India since 2016

Jeep returned to the Indian market in 2016. Its current lineup includes the Compass, Meridian, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, covering premium SUVs as well as the more off-road-focused Wrangler.

Over the years, Jeep has also built owner communities through customer events, experiential drives and other activities focused on adventure and exploration.

Duck Duck Jeep comes to India

As part of its 85th anniversary celebrations, Jeep has introduced the "Duck Duck Jeep" movement to India. The community tradition started in 2020, when Jeep owners began leaving small rubber ducks with friendly notes on other Jeep vehicles. The gesture is meant to show appreciation and create a connection between Jeep owners.

The idea has since spread across Jeep communities in different countries. With its arrival in India, local owners can now take part in the same community tradition.

Special anniversary benefits for Jeep customers

To mark the milestone, Jeep is offering special 85th Anniversary customer benefits throughout the month, available across sales, aftersales, and merchandise. These offers can be accessed both through the Jeep-india.com website and at Jeep India dealerships.
