Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck spotted on test — Debut on August 15?

Mahidnra took the wraps off the Scorpio N Pik-up concept last year along with the Thar Electric. Ahead of its global debut, the Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck was recently spotted on test, wearing heavy camouflage. Interestingly, Mahindra is testing both the single-cab and dual-cab versions of the Scorpio N pick-up truck in India, ahead of its global debut. Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck testing begins
The Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck has stepped into the local testing stage, wearing heavy camouflage and makeshift headlights. The early spy shots reveal design similar to that of the Scorpio N, which is largely the base for the Global Pikup concept that Mahindra revealed earlier. Interestingly, Mahindra is testing the new Scorpio N-based pick-up truck in both single-cab and double-cab configurations. It remains to be seen whether India gets the double-cab configuration only or also the single-cab configuration, which is otherwise aimed at commercial usage.

Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck expected features
On the features front, we expect the Scorpio N pick-up truck to share its features with the Scorpio N. These features include a semi-digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, front and rear parking camera, leatherette seats and wireless smartphone charging. We believe the pick-up truck could miss out features like an electric sunroof, level-2 ADAS and other premium features, in order to gel with its rugged positioning in the market.
Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck powertrain options
Coming to the Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up powertrain options, we expect it to come with the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine only, which does duty on a slew of other Mahindra SUVs. Currently, there are two lifestyle pick-up trucks on sale in India—the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross—both of which are only offered with a diesel engine. Needless to say, the Scorpio N pick-up truck is likely to offer the option of both automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive, like its arch rivals.
Mahindra Scorpio N pick-up truck India launch timeline
We expect Mahindra to take the wraps off the pre-production iteration of the Scorpio N pick-up truck at the upcoming Freedom NU event, taking place on August 15, 2025. While details of its launch are not official yet, we do not expect its launch to take place until 2026, since Mahindra is busy readying the XUV700 facelift, XUV700 electric and the BE 6 Rall-e this year.
