Mahindra India has launched the new Thar ROXX Star Edition featuring a few cosmetic updates inside and out that are unique to this edition. It’s based on the top-of-the-line AX7L variant. It comes with all the premium features of the base model along with special touches exclusive to this edition.
The new ROXX star edition price starts at Rs 17.85 lakh ex-showroom. Beyond the yellow shade, it will also be available in three other colours.

2026 Mahindra Thar ROXX Star Edition exterior & interior
The Mahindra Thar ROXX Star Edition gets a few key touch-ups. On the exterior, the grille comes in a Piano Black finish, and the “STAR EDN” lettering is placed neatly beside the rear passenger-side handle. It rides on R19 Piano Black finish alloy wheels giving it an even more commanding SUV stance.
The new Roxx Star Edition is available in four exterior shades: Tango Red, Stealth Black, Everest White, and Citrine Yellow. Inside, the Thar ROXX Star Edition interior features new all-black leatherette seats with suede accents. Most of the other elements remain the same as the regular Thar ROXX.

The 2026 Mahindra ROXX Star Edition comes with most of the features of the AX7L, but it does not get the electric parking brake with auto hold and Level 2 ADAS that the AX7L offers. Other than these omissions, it retains all the key features.

Under the hood, the Thar ROXX Star Edition is strictly RWD. Engine options include the 2.0L turbo petrol which is available only with a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 2.2L diesel, on the other hand, comes in both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic configurations.
Mahindra has not offered a 4X4 drivetrain in this edition, so buyers looking for serious off-road capability will need to consider this trade-off.

When it comes to pricing, the ROXX Star Edition offers a lower-cost alternative to the AX7L, which ranges between Rs 18.86 lakh and 22.25 lakh. For buyers willing to forgo Level 2 ADAS and 4WD, this edition still delivers most of the top-trim features at a more accessible price. The 2.0L turbo petrol AT is priced at Rs 17.85 lakh, the 2.2L diesel MT at Rs 16.85 lakh, and the 2.2L diesel AT at Rs 18.35 lakh.
