Mercedes-Benz car prices to go up

Mercedes-Benz India is all set to increase its car prices in the month of June 2025. In the first phase, seven Mercedes-Benz models will see a price hike in June, followed by the remaining models in September 2025. Speaking of the first phase price hike, models like the C-Class, E-Class, GLC, GLE, GLS, EQS and Maybach S-Class will be affected by this price hike. The price hike will vary from Rs 90,000 for the C-Class to Rs 12.2 lakh for the Maybach S-Class.

Other notable SUV models like the GLC, GLE and GLS SUVs will receive a price hike of Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3.1 lakh, respectively. One of the best selling Mercedes models in India—the E-Class—will receive a price hike of Rs 2 lakh whereas the all-electric EQS sedan will receive a price hike of Rs 3 lakh. It is worth mentioning that the aforementioned price hike will come into action in June 2025 and will be applicable on the ex-showroom price of the respective models. Furthermore, the second price hike will be announced in September, affecting the prices of the remaining models by 1.5%.

Reason behind the price hike

According to Mercedes-Benz, the latest price hikes are the result of a near 10 percent depreciation in the forex value of the Indian rupee compared to the Euro over the past four months, which has increased the cost of importing both CBU (completely built unit) models and components for CKD (completely knocked down) model assembly. The carmaker has attempted to offset the rising costs by increasing production localisation in India, but now has to pass some of them to customers.

Given the upcoming price hike, now is the right time to bring home a new Mercedes-Benz car of your dreams. However, if you can not meet the deadline of June 2025, you can also look out for certified pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars and save a ton of money without compromising on the overall ownership experinece.  To stay updated with all happenings and developments in the automotive world and be a part of interesting auto discussions and more, join our official AUTOVERSE Whatsapp community (click here to join).
