MG Motor India seems to be on a price-hiking spree in 2025, and July is no exception. Alongside its siblings, the MG Astor is also under scrutiny, as the carmaker appears to be testing both the wallets and loyalty of its potential buyers. The compact SUV has become up to Rs 19,000 more expensive, with the hike uniformly affecting both the Astor Petrol MT and AT trims. However, the exact increase varies depending on the specific variant.

In the latest round of price revisions, the MG Astor Sprint MT and Select MT variants have each received a uniform hike of Rs 18,000. With this, they’re now priced at Rs 11.47 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, India). Meanwhile, the Astor Shine MT—positioned as the second-base variant—has seen the steepest hike of Rs 19,000, taking its price to Rs 12.66 lakh. On the other end, the Astor Sharp Pro MT gets the most modest increase of Rs 13,000, bringing its new ex-showroom price to Rs 15.33 lakh.

The updated MG Astor price for the Select AT and Sharp Pro AT variants now stands at Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 16.63 lakh (ex-showroom), following a uniform hike of Rs 15,000. Meanwhile, the MG Astor Savvy Pro AT has gone up by Rs 17,000, pushing its new price to Rs 17.62 lakh. And if you're eyeing this top-tier trim in the striking red shade, it’ll cost a bit more, with the ex-showroom price set at Rs 17.72 lakh.

MG Astor engine options

Under the hood, the MG Astor comes equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 110 PS and 144 Nm of torque. On the transmission front, buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. Meanwhile, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine was officially discontinued earlier in February this year.
