Outline

Hyundai India has been testing the next-gen Venue for several months now and a fresh set of spy shots give us a sneak peek into the front design of the compact SUV, which resembles that of the Hyundai Creta. Read the story to know more about the next-gen Hyundai Venue along with its expected launch timeline, features and powertrain details.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue design

The fresh images of the new Venue reveal its frontal design, which starkly resembles the Creta. Up front, the new Venue features a large radiator grille with rectangular inlets along with vertically-stacked LED headlights, like the Creta SUV. It also features connected LED DRLs along with a connected light bar in the middle. The bumper can also be seen with vertically stacked cladding around the side, which could be a unique design quirk for the new Venue.

Around the side, the new Venue resembles its window line but the side mirrors new, with integrated turn signals. Furthermore, it also features thick body cladding and a new set of machined dual-tone alloy wheels. At the back, we expect a new bumper along with revised tail light clusters. With the new gen, Hyundai seems to answer the biggest criticism for the Venue, that it doesn’t look SUV enough.

New-gen Hyundai Venue interior

As we write this story, we have not managed to get our hands on any interior shots of the new Venue. Needless to say, Hyundai will leave no stones unturned to cram as many features as possible on the new Venue. A few of these features could include a larger infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a TFT instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS and more. All these aforementioned features are currently missing in the Venue and offered by most of its rivals.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue engine options

On the powertrain front, we expect the new-gen Venue to carry the same set of powertrain options, which include the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines. Its 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only whereas the 120PS 1.0-litre turbocharged engine offers the choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, offers a 6-speed manual transmission only. With the generation update, we expect Hyundai to pair the diesel engine with an auto box also.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue launch timeline

While there is no word on Venue launch date from Hyundai, we expect Hyundai to take the wraps off the next-gen Venue towards the end of this year, followed by its launch. Once launched, it will continue to rival other sub-compact SUVs like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Maruti Brezza.
