Next-gen Kia Seltos spotted in India again — Details inside

Kia India is prepping up the new-gen Seltos, which is said to be launched later this year. Ahead of its global debut, the 2025 Kia Seltos has been spotted again on test on the Indian roads. The spy shots of the new gen Kia Seltos reveal key design details that we will discuss in this article along with its expected features and powertrain details.

Next-gen Kia Seltos design details

The images reveal the key design details of the new Seltos, which takes a dramatic turn from the sleek design of the Seltos. Up front, the new-gen Kia Seltos features vertically-stacked LED headlights along with arrow-shaped LED DRLs as well. The images also reveal a larger grille with vertical inserts, which should lend it an aggressive look. Around the side, it runs on a new set of alloy wheels and from the looks of it, features a boxier design over the current Seltos. Around the back, it is likely to feature vertically stacked LED lights along with arrow shaped LED DRLs as well.

Next-gen Kia Seltos interior and features

On the inside, the Kia Seltos is going to feature a major overhaul and one could also expect better space and practicality. It’s obvious that Kia India will try to cram even more features to the Seltos, which already is a feature-packed SUV. The question is around what more features could Kia manage to cram in while keeping the price quotient intact. Or will Kia exceed the price segment and extend the Seltos’ appeal to a larger bracket and target the premium customers, only time will tell. For now, the Seltos comes packed with features such as a twin-screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, level-2 ADAS features, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, rear sunshades and more. 

2nd-gen Kia Seltos powertrain details

Coming to the powertrain options, the Kia Seltos will carry over the same set of petrol and diesel engine options as offered on the current first-gen facelifted Seltos. What remains to be exciting news is the petrol-hybrid option, which has been talked about of late, amid the concern of meeting CAFE norms. A petrol hybrid powertrain is very likely to be a part of the 2nd-gen Seltos’ suite in order to compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. Kia already offers a slew of mild-hybrid and plug-in-hybrid powertrain options with its cars globally but India being a price-conscious market, would be better off with a strong-hybrid powertrain, which is often regarded as a bridge between the two options mentioned above.

2nd-gen Kia Seltos India launch details

The launch of the first gen Seltos took place in 2019, followed by the launch of the facelift in 2023. Logically, the 2nd-gen Kia Seltos India launch should take place in the later part of 2025 or early 2026. Once launched, the Seltos is likely to regain its upper hand in the C-segment SUV space thanks to the aggressive design and an expected hybrid powertrain.
