Skoda displayed the latest generation of the Octavia in its RS guise at this year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo. While the car was confirmed to be on its way to India, the launch timeline of the same had not yet been confirmed. Skoda Octavia RS — What is it?
The Octavia RS, or the Octavia vRS, is a performance-oriented version of the Octavia sedan. It has been launched in India in the past, but usually comes in a few numbers and gets sold out in a heartbeat.
2025 Skoda Octavia RS specs
The India-spec Octavia RS gets a 2.0-litre TSI engine that has been tuned to produce 269PS of maximum power and 370Nm of peak torque. The turbo-petrol motor comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It also gets a distinct exhaust system than the regular Octavia. The sedan can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in just 6.4 seconds. The Skoda Octavia RS top speed has been restricted to 250kmph.

Skoda Octavia vRS interior and exterior
The RS-spec Octavia gets lots of exterior elements that distinguish it from the standard Octavia. It features a blacked-out grille, larger air intakes, vRS badges at the front and rear, a rear lip spoiler, and a different design for the alloy wheels. The RS also sits 15mm lower than the regular Octavia.
The design changes aren’t limited to the exterior, but to the inside of the cabin too. There are red inserts throughout the cabin, coupled with red ambient lighting. The sports seats come finished in black upholstery with red stitching. The steering wheel also features a vRS badge at the bottom.

New Skoda Octavia RS India launch timeline
The new Skoda Octavia RS is said to be slated for a launch this November. While it does not have any direct rivals, it will face some competition from other performance-oriented cars like the new Volkswagen Golf GTI and some entry-level German sedans. As has been the case with earlier models, the upcoming Octavia RS is likely to be offered in limited numbers, and is expected to be priced northwards of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), being a CBU.
