Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol get more power than Curvv — Full specs revealed

The specifications of the new Tata Safari and Harrier petrol models have been revealed. Both SUVs use the familiar Hyperion petrol engine from the Tata Curvv, but the tuning has been stepped up for these variants. They deliver 45PS more power and 55Nm more torque giving them a noticeable edge in performance.

Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol specifications

At the heart of the new Tata Safari petrol is the 1.5-litre Hyperion 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, tuned to deliver 170 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AISIN-sourced torque converter automatic. The same setup is also found in the new Tata Harrier petrol.

By comparison, the Curvv features a smaller 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Hyperion GDI turbo petrol engine, producing 125 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque. Transmission options there include a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Tata Harrier & Safari diesel specifications

Both the Tata Harrier and Safari use the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It’s available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Tata Harrier petrol is available in several trims: Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X+, Fearless X, Fearless X+, and Fearless Ultra. The Tata Safari petrol, on the other hand, comes in Smart, Pure X, Adventure X+, Accomplished X, Accomplished X+, and Accomplished Ultra.
