The official Tata Nexon EV safety ratings have been released by BNCAP as part of its latest assessment. As per the BNCAP Tata Nexon EV crash test results, the electric SUV has scored a 5-star rating for both adult and child protection. It is worth noting that the Nexon EV was tested alongside the Punch EV, details of which can be checked here. Tata Nexon EV Bharat NCAP Safety Ratings Explained

 

The Tata Nexon EV scored 29.86 points out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) while the Child Occupant Protection (COP) score on the other hand stood at 23.95 out of 24. A Child Restraint System (CRS) installation score of 12 on 12, and 9 points out of 13 for vehicle assessment helped the Nexon EV score an impressive child safety rating. The electric SUV underwent two tests: a 'Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test,' in which it scored 14.26 out of 16 points, and a 'Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test,' where it earned 15.60 out of 16 points.

2024 Tata Nexon EV Safety Features

 

To start with, the standard Tata Nexon EV safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), brake assist, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. The higher variants on the other hand are offered with additional safety features like a 360-degree camera, rear disc brakes, front parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

While the BNCAP reports are not as detailed in explaining the results and performance of the electronic safety features compared to other new car assessment programs, the BNCAP report mentions that the electric SUV comes with ESC as standard and lists pedestrian protection as per AIS-100.
