Outline

The Tata Sierra EV launch was supposed to happen before the ICE version, but plans flipped and the Sierra ICE hit the market first in December. Now, the EV’s timeline in India is finally confirmed. It will ride on the Acti.ev architecture (or ARGOS platform). Once it arrives, the Sierra EV will take on the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Curvv EV, putting it right in the thick of the electric SUV race.

The upcoming Tata Sierra EV is likely to carry over the same design and look as its ICE version, from front to side to rear. There will be certain updates, including a closed-off grille, EV lettering, a charging port, and a few other small touches that mark it as an electric model.

Inside, the Sierra EV interior is expected to follow the same layout as the ICE version. Here too, it will get a few EV-specific elements, making the cabin feel familiar but clearly tailored for an electric experience.

Tata Sierra EV features

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to carry most of the features from its ICE version. This includes a three-screen dashboard layout for the driver, infotainment system, and passenger, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, four-spoke steering wheel with Tata’s illuminated logo, ambient lighting, wireless charger, 12-speaker audio system, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and a six-way powered driver seat with memory and welcome functions, among others.

On the safety side, it’s likely to offer six airbags, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, ESC, ABS, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX mounts, traction control, and TPMS. It’s also expected to feature Level 2 ADAS, including forward collision warning, lane assist, high-beam control, and speed assist.

Tata Sierra EV battery & range

Powertrain-wise, the Tata Sierra EV is expected to offer two battery options: a smaller 55 kWh pack and a larger 65 kWh unit borrowed from the Harrier EV. It is claimed to deliver a range of around 500 km on a single charge.  It’s also likely to come with an AWD drivetrain setup, probably reserved for the higher trims,

Tata Sierra EV launch timeline

The Tata Sierra EV India launch is scheduled for the first quarter of FY 2027, which means it should arrive between April and June 2026.

Tata Sierra EV price expectations

The upcoming Tata electric SUV in India is expected to be priced northwards of Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it above the Tata Curvv EV.
